Reviews for Mishimoto MMRAD-WRA-07V2 Aluminum Radiator for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I have a 2004 Jeep TJ and a 2013 Jeep JK. I replace the radiators in both Jeep with mishimoto aluminum radiators. Shortly after installing about a month or so both radiator started to leak. I contacted mishimoto about the warranty and they were very helpful and sent me two new radiators. Again, a few months after installation both radiator started to leak. I never had the chance to take the Jeep's off-road. So the leaks begain with normal street use. I contacted Quadratec and they were very helpful and understanding they gave me a store credit without hesitation to buy stock radiators. This is why I'm a Quadratec repeat customer. I am sure that mishimoto makes quality products they could not offer a lifetime warranty on their products if they didn't. I think they need to design their off-road line, with the demands of off roading engineered into their product. The radiators installed into both Jeeps just as it should. Everything lined up just like a stock radiator would. The radiators look great in the Jeep. But if the performance is lagging then looks don't matter. I would only buy mishimoto radiator if the design was changed to make it stronger.
So 8 months into my new Mishimoto radiator and I have a bilateral leak, somewhat intermittent, but its blowing approximately three pints of coolant every 150 miles. Mish will warrantee the unit, but they charge you $30 to ship, plus they have some DocuSign charge authorization should they feel the warrantee claim is invalid. Lets just say I am kicking myself for not going back to OEM. Sure OEM broke, but at least I had 9 years of good use out of the thing. If you are like me (on the fence over this mod), skip it. Not worth the aggravation of their warrantee system.
JUNK JUNK JUNK. first one that showed up to my house had bad brackets. mishimoto sent me a warranty replacement and that only lasted 2,000 miles until it started leaking at the core. good thing their warranty is good so you can replace your radiator once every few months...
Same issue as other review. The leaking started after 2 months. Don't buy this!
Well it was great for 3 months and now it's leaking on both sides from around 3/4 of the way up probably a end tank - core weld flaw. For the warranty, you won't have a radiator for over 2 to 5 weeks even if you overnight it back to them for inspection and repair. By the time I pay to fix this issue out of pocket I could have bought the Griffin radiator, you get what you pay for though.
