Good replacement for freedom panels

I have only had the sunrider on my Jeep for about 2 weeks. BUT I absolutely love it! I am a woman in my 50's and I was able to install this by myself. (I know they recommend two people to lift it on the Jeep). It was easy to install and the directions were clear and easy to follow. It has rained twice since I put this on and so far there have been no leaks also no issues with the knobs not being long enough as other reviews have stated. Although I have noticed the knobs do need to be retightened every few days (this includes the mushroom knobs which was never an issue with the freedom panels). Not sure if it is due to me not getting them tight enough or if this is normal. I am not to concerned with it, I just check frequently and tighten as needed. I waited several years to buy this as I thought the price was a bit high but after a bad experience with a frameless soft top ( bought from another company), I decided to try this. I am so glad I did and wish I had not waited so long. I love the convenience of this over the freedom panels. I very seldom took the freedom panels off due to having to haul them around and having to put them back on when I got to my destination. I have used the sunrider almost every day since putting it on. Did I say I love this?! I absolutely do recommend this.

By Far the BEST MOD i ever bought for my old Jeep. So Good In Fact, that Im buying another one for my new jeep.

Installation: I did by myself in about 1 hr 15 minutes... Take Your Time, and everything Fits just Fine.

Ease of Use... I never got caught in the rain, and literally could put the top up or down withing about 5 seconds. Its made SUPER EASY.

If you're debating... i will tell you its WELL WORTH IT. You keep the Security of a hard top and the awesomeness of a partial softtop, that can be used with speed.

Seriously, Best Money you'll ever spend being a casual jeep owner.

I ordered this last month and myself, hubby and a friend put it on. The install was easy (yes the typical woman could follow and accomplish) - we had no issue with bolts not being long enough (as mentioned in some reviews) and following the directions was pretty straight forward, etc. It took less than an hour to install and fits snuggly and looks like it always belonged there on my jeep. There is a video for this install and I do want to mention that the video does not follow the same steps the box directions give. We went with the video process which was really helpful and addressed multiple things you would need to know such as keeping it from leaking and setting it properly. These apparently worked because it's been washed as well as in many rain storms since install and not one drop of water has leaked.

I will say it is WAY louder than my freedom panels while on the highway, But the freedom to open and close my top several times a day without ever getting out of my jeep is worth what I hear in road noise!!!! No bag to carry, no panels taking up space, not pulling off road in the rain to put tops on - this was the best purchase I've made so far. I did pay the little extra to have the higher grade fabric and I don't regret that decision at all it looks cleaner, nicer. Shipping was fast and able to be tracked. Item arrived in perfect condition and packed well.

On a side note - I can flip this top (to both open and close) while going 30 mph or less - so if you can slow down in the rain you can close up with never stopping! We do this often because we live in FL and it rains like 3-4 times a day randomly. This is why I wanted the top because it was exhausting with the panels on and off or having to check weather to make a decision to take them off. Now - I don't care....I can open and close wherever or whenever!

This was the perfect solution because I really do love my hard top and didn't want a full soft top like our other jeep. I want full sun over me and access to the open wind/elements but don't always want my whole hard top off. I've noticed no change in gas mileage with this top open. Also, you can take this off and reinstall your freedom panels without removing the tracks - so if you wanted to be less noisy for a long drive or warmer in the winter you can do so easily. Just a few simple screws to swap back without undoing the entire install.

If you're contemplating this purchase I vote that you BUY IT. You will love it!!!! A great little add on!!!!!

I have waited for years to finally buy this. But wish I hadn't! Really is super nice to be able to on the fly open and close the front top. I have the black twill and it is very nice quality. The sound is significantly louder at high way speeds but thats is to be expected. If I was going on a long road trip I might decide to put the freedom panels on. But other than that its a worthy purchase. If you are deciding on your next big expense this should be it. As you know by now.....Its never ending with the Jeep :)

2018 JL U Sahara. Took 3 install attempts and 1 stripped screw before I decided to remove the sun shade and grip handles . Also got a second pair of hands to keep the seal aligned. After that, no issues. I had to drill out the driver side button head screw and run a bolt, nut and washer combo due to stripping it out, other than that all went well. The sun shade and handles went right back on and everything looks and works great

Great product. Easy setup after figuring the steps out. Did not follow you tube , depended on the directions sent and these worked better for me. Very pleased

Wife Loves it. Put it on 2nd Jeep. Held up well.
