Quality

Very simple to install even though the instructions were very hard to see. They had been photocopied so many times the resolution was garbage.

Received the wrong winch with steel cable versus the synthetic that I ordered. I installed it anyhow, as I had a planned hunting trip several states away and notified customer service via email. Upon my return, I called the help line and was on hold for about 27 minutes but, the conversation was professional, courteous and personable. Sent pictures of the Part Number and winch that I had received, and the cost difference was provided back in a matter of minutes. Received an email response to my original email a few days after that (they did say that they were unusually busy). I have used the winch several times with the steel winch cable already and so far it has worked flawlessly. I have recently replaced the steel cable with synthetic and am very happy. Would recommend the winch in a heartbeat.

Great winch. I had a problem mounting the top control box on the winch and a quick call to them solved the problem (the two cross bars were slightly twisted not allowing the clamps to clamp the control box).

Went with the synthetic line model after having the steel cable previously. The synthetic line doesn't unspool when the clutch is released, allowing better retention on the drum when pulling line out manually. The option to use the winch remote wirelessly helps keep the operation safer too. One person in control of the remote can switch the remote on and off as needed to prevent accidental operation.

Love the winch. Plenty of power and fit perfectly.

I have had this winch on my Jeep for two years. We have used it several time while wheeling, and it worked great. The clutch handle broke once, but Smittybuilt sent a new one immediately at no cost. Very happy with this unit.
