Reviews for Bestop Supertop NX Twill Soft Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK 4 Door
So far so good. The material feels nice. It was about 4 - 4.5 hours to install by myself. I wasn't in a hurry and did read the instructions and then re read the instructions. The worst part was all of the little screws attaching the top to the bars. The MOPAR top comes assembled. This would have been nice to. But I guess this is why it is 400 more. It was tight which is good. The parts fit together nicely. My wifes only complaint is that it has BOWS that she doesn't like. The Mopar doesn't. It appears that this can be used without them but they are for keeping the top from flapping and it gives some extra support. The top is fairly quiet at road speeds. It is easy to operate. It is a 2 person job to fold the top all he way back. Still getting used to it.
I just installed this top (finally) after having it in my basement for 2 months. The quality is incredible, and between the instructions and the video (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A867SmzXtPc) I watched, it took me and one other person just over 2 hours to have completed.
This was the perfect choice for me since I only had a hard top on my Jeep. The quality is amazing. The metal bows that make up the frame were easy to assemble and install. On the roll bar in the back, the threaded holes were already there and the roll bar padding was already made for the brackets. That made it super easy to just bolt the brackets to the existing holes and everything lined up perfectly. Truly all you need to do the install are a couple of wrenches. Installation took me about 3.5 hours. Did it myself. Driving with this top I'm really impressed how quiet it is on the highway. It's easily as quiet as my hard top was.
Excellent quality and fit! Way better than the factory top. Install isn't too bad, I would recommend watching the install video on YouTube. Quadratec service was outstanding as usual.
Well, my first review!! This top is incredible. Now I can put my racks in the gutters. I have been stopped by over 45 Jeep owners that have asked to look at my soft top. Guys and Gals, easy to put on and comes down quick. I recommend you buy the windows bag Carrie that attaches to the soft top in the down position. Good Luck
INSTALL IS DEF A 2 MAN JOB. BUT ONCE THAT IS COMPLETE ITS EASY TO TAKE DOWN AND PUT UP. THE TWILL IS VERY WELL MADE AND LOOKS GREAT WITH THE TINTED WINDOWS.
Came quick, Installed easy, Cable system is fantastic, quality exceeds expectations. Enjoying the heck out of this top.
Can say enough about the customer support but first the top review. Install was a breeze, took about 2 hours. One installed I got fortunate enough to be in the middle of the rain and no leaks! Sunrider function is easy and can be done in a fraction of the time vs the freedom top. Clean up is also really easy to, dried on mud washes off with my hose and a middle grade everyday nosle. Road noise is a little louder vs the hard top but drastically better than the sail cloth.
Now for the support, during instal we had a broken zipper on the rear passenger side back window. I called Quadratec the following Monday and they had the replacement on my door that Wednesday with a return label ready by EOD on Monday.
All in all I will recommend this too for anyone wanting to do the seasonal swap as it's just a couple bobs to remove and a quick disconnect on the back to perform the swap. Doing a first time dry run it took me 15 minutes total to have my softop removed and hard top installed with the freedom tops and I put the softop back on in about 20 minutes.
The twill is worth the extra money!!
Reliable and good looking product.
Great product, but what a P.I.T.A to install. Looks fantastic, very little wind/road noise.
With that said, the hardware wasn't too bad to install, a little trial and error which I expected. Now on to installing the fabric to the bars. 4 panhead screws hold the the fabric to the back bar, and 5 to the front bar. The back bar wasn't too difficult to install, but the front bar was over a 1.5 hour fiasco. Why isn't there guide holes in the fabric? And then try with just one person to get the screw into the fabric and then into the hole on the bar with the soundbar in the way. And if the top isn't screwed into the bar within 1/4" of leeway the top is crooked and you can't get the back to correctly fit into the guide rails or have the side windows zipper properly. For the money its a very good product but the R&D team really need a better way to fasten the roof to the bars. I'm pretty sure some type of Velcro would do the trick. Just my .02.
