Reviews for Banks Power 41816 Ram-Air Intake System for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited with 4.0L
Love it!
Not hard to install, looks good and sounds good.
Very easy to install, gives the engine a more throaty sound while under full throttle. Can definitely tell there's a few added horsepower and the MPG wasn't to significant but I'm sure a tune is needed to fully reap all the rewards of this kit.
I am by no means a mechanic. My Jeep has also been a learning experience to get some practical knowledge of how to work on a vehicle myself. This intake was very easy to install, and took me around an hour. Most of that was running around trying to source the tools. Makes my Jeep feel a bit peppier, and I can hear it sucking air much more so than the stock intake. I installed this at the same time as my MBRP exhaust (also highly recommend), and between the two, I saw about a 4 MPG increase.
I installed this on my 1997 Wrangler Sahara with the 4.0L motor. Installation was a breeze, all of the parts fit together nicely, and the instruction booklet was pretty accurate as well. I do notice a pretty big performance increase, but I haven't had it on long enough to see if my fuel mileage increases. If you're looking to give your aging motor some more performance I think this is a good place to start.
Great product, Installation is somewhat straight forward, just does not tell you what you need to take loose around the factory air box is all. But if you look it over, you can figure what extra items need to be removed before you install the Banks System. After running it several days, I have noticed right from the start the difference in performance. It does not flatten out as before when you climb the RPM range, it gets there quicker and doesn't choke out.
Noticeable increases in power and fuel economy! Very happy.
breath easy. I have a header on my jeep and you can tell the difference. more air in and more air out...
Fairly easy install. The quality is pretty good but the only problem with it is the cone filter loosely fits in the casing and moves around too much. You can hear it sucking in air but no performance difference noticed so far.
