Excellent design and function... mounted a 35" Nitto on a 22" rim

I deliberated a lot and had planned to use a carrier compatible with my Hard Rock bumper. After much consideration I decided to just get the hd hinge carrier.

I am very happy with this carrier, it is quite robust, fitment is nice tight, and use is smooth and easy. I have zero rattles out of the over sized tire, and no longer worry about damage to my tailgate.

It is expensive, but it is a nice piece.

One day to arrive from order date, carefully packaged, Hinged carrier is Solid, (does not conform exactly but more than adequate in design) I run Falken A/T3W 285/75R17s so figured for a 33 inch mount but the 35 lug location (middle holes) was a better fit for the tire mount. Keeping the rubber gaskets in place was fun while installing. (use some k. y. to stick them in place) Hinged carrier package was missing part no. 4860222 Hole Plug item 10. so had to cover hole with E tape. overall easy install and took care of the rattling from the OEM carrier which was driving me nuts.

The TeraFlex carrier is an excellent carrier durable construction I’ve had on my jeep for over two years
And also have my highlift Jack mounted to it

A sturdy tire and wheel carrier is a must when adding larger, heavier tires and wheels to the back of your Jeep. I couldn't be happier with the Terraflex Wheel Carrier as it was super easy to install, has no rattle at all, and was easy to put my AEV Pintler Wheel with 315 K02 Tires on the assembly. I also easily was able to add the bracket for the AEV Rear Break Light and the Kenwood Rear Backup Camera to the top of the mount.

If I could make one change, I do wish there was some kind of locking mechanism in the carrier to stop the back door, wheel, and tire from being able to swing back into you when doing some stuff in the back of the Jeep, but beyond that, this carrier did exactly what I wanted for much less than the AEV Tire Carrier. It looks awesome as well!
