Reviews for Banks Power Ram-Air Intake System for 12-18 Jeep Wrangler JK with 3.6L
I chose the Banks cold air intake for my 2016 Jeep JKU largely because of their reputation, but also for the price. It was comparable to many others, and the design is very similar to the stock engine cover. It was a very easy install, so there are no complaints there. However, the CCV tube doesn't line up with the Banks airbox. The stock tube is molded to fit the stock airbox, but the Banks airbox has the connection at a different location causing the tube to kink. You would think that they would have included either a new hose, or at least some type of adapter to make the hose fit better. I actually cut the factory hose to lessen the kink, but I may have to fabricate another hose. The other issue was that the Banks airbox seems to hit the underside of the hood, which will eventually cause the paint to wear under the hood. Many people may not care about that, but how hard would it be to shape the airbox to avoid contact with the hood? It's too soon to know what improvements, if any that I will see. However, I can tell that there is certainly more throttle response than with the stock. Also, the sound coming from under the hood is awesome, so if that's what you're after, then you certainly won't be disappointed.
Installed for less than 24 hours with Magnaflow exhaust upgrade but has a subtle sound. Could have used three hands to wiggle into place but it fits!
