Reviews for Daystar KJ09144BK Tailgate Bump Stops for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Worked well at stabilizing my larger tire and offset
These bump stops are not as firm as I anticipated. If you cut them down, they won't provide enough tension to keep the spare from bouncing around so you need to use the full length. At full length, in order for them to be compressed enough to do their job, you need two people to mount the spare...one to push the tire onto the tailgate, compressing the bump stops, and another to get the lug nuts started. Once that's done, it's easy to tighten and they take up any extra space between the tailgate and the spare. Taking the tire off might be an adventure, since once that last lug nut comes off, the tire is going to spring away from the tailgate. Overall, they get the job done, just a little tricky to mount/dismount the spare.
Good product. Used WD40 to get them in.
Hard to fit.
Not sure of quality yet, just installed. The bump stops were very difficult to install for such a simple replacement. Old bump stops came off very easy. New bump stops did not twist on easily and it seem the threads were offset. Made of soft foam, should be rubber as stock bump stops.
not very strong
bump stops will break if you bend them to far.
Doesn’t screw into hole as advertised. It works ok but not nearly as dense of material as the OEM style. I’m torn on whether to even use it.
I have a 35' tire mounted on a 17' rim on the stock tire carrier and these do not line up well with the tire. I had to bend them to contact the tire better and they seem to be very soft even with no trimming.
These are pretty soft. the soft plastic insertion tab to mount is threaded but will not thread /screw/press into stock hole. I fought these to get them to push in but would not go more than 3/4 insertion when they broke off. So went straight into the trash . the stock bumpers pop in and out easily over and over these are a no go . dont waste your money
