Reviews for Quadratec RES-Q Teton Series Winch
Synthetic rope options
Installed this winch today on my 2020 Diesel Rubicon with factory steel bumper and Warn winch plate. Nice solid installation. The wireless control is a. Plus. Leads we're long enough for the diesel battery location.
So far, so good. Only have a few pulls in with this winch, but it's performed well and looks great. My only complaint is that the mounting bolts for the roller fairlead had tiny low-profile heads which couldn't stand up to being torqued properly. There's plenty of space there for a standard head bolt. Replaced with better grade 8 bolts which were suited to the task.
Just mounted the 10K synthetic rope winch with the Rugged Ridge winch plate and Warn line hook mount. The winch is sleek, has an integrated drum light (which is nice since the winch is inside my factory steel Jeep bumper), and is wired/wireless! Which is super convenient. And for half the cost of a Warn... since I’ll only use it one or twice a year, you know, to pull out a Yoda.. I couldn’t justify the price of a Warn and the Q Series was the answer. Hopefully it’ll last me a few good years!
Only issue I had was with the upper inside passenger bumper bolt. Once the winch and bumper is one you have a millimeter worth of space to crank a socket one click at a time...
Easy to install, looks great. Paired with an ARB stubby bumper. I will be replacing the hook with a Factor 55 solution for flexibility and safety.
So far so good. I have not used the winch yet but it looks to be of high quality and installed fairly easily. I will installed this on a new Quadratec front bumper and while a relatively easy install, it was very difficult to access the lug nuts connecting the winch to the bumper. Also, there were no instructions on how to connect the electrical cable to the battery or how to thread the electrical cable in and around the engine. That would have been nice.
Great winch and worked awesome over the weekend but zero instructions for installing or wiring up. Also, the bolts that came with it for the roller had no heads on them and were made so far deep in China that you couldn't screw on the nuts. Had to get different hardware to get mounted properly.
The winch mechanically is amazing. My only complain is that after 2 winters in North East Ohio, the aluminum fins and logo have completely started to erode away. It is now all silver and looks rough.
I think the winch works well. The instructions were terrible. When you purchase this winch you'll need to purchase a mounting plate, but nowhere does it tell you that. I battled for 6 hours to install it.
I bought the 10,000 K winch with synthetic rope for my TJ about a year ago and I've used it several times for getting myself unstuck on the trails. So far I'm overall happy with the winch, but my biggest complaint is the remote. It eats batteries like they are cheerios even though I make sure to turn the remote off after each use. I'm also not a fan of having to take the remote apart exposing all the wires and circuit board just to change a battery. It would be nice to see the remote get a much needed upgrade with either a dedicated battery compartment and access panel or even better, a USB style charger port so we can charge the remote from the vehicle.
