Reviews for Oracle Lighting 5874-504 Rear Bumper LED Reverse Lights for 18-22 Jeep Wrangler JL
Great lights! I like that the lights look stock. I did replace them without removing the bumper and it was not easy. I had to use multiple extensions and swivel socket. Wiring was simple.
The fit on my jeep
Absolutely love these lights. A pain to get to the one but required to remove/replace, but patience pays off.
The fit was perfect and they look great. Instructions were clear and detailed. The only problem I had was getting to the bolts behind the bumper. I solved that by NOT using the screws provided. I used silicone instead. Saved a lot of time and worked great!
2021 Rubicon with plastic bumper. My fit was perfect. Wasn’t able to get screws back in, so used double stick tape to augment the nice, tight snap in fit. I’ll probably got back and remove the plastic bumper to install screws. They work great! SUPER BRIGHT. Yea, I’m not too happy with the t clips, but, they work.
Installation went smoothly. Thought at first that I was going to have to issues since I have a trailer hitch, but it wasn't in the way at all. Makes a huge difference when backing up at night.
Just installed these yesterday and what an amazing mod. This is one of it not the best mod you can put on the JL for under $100. The install was easy and the light output is a game changer. For something that just plug and plays into the factory bumper without having to have some bolt on bracket, Oracle knocked this one out of the park.
Just installed them today. So far I’m extremely happy and they look great. I really hope they last.
Before you install YouTube “how to remove JL Rear Bumper.” I have the plastic one and if I just watched how to remove it it would have saved me at least an 45 min.
Also, the other review is correct. Getting that screw out of the reflector and back in the light is a pain. The angle bit barely helps. Make sure you screw the screw into the new Oracle light a few times before you try to install it. It will be much easier if it already has been broken in a little before.
Again, so far a great product but only time will tell.
Made a huge difference at night being able to actually see behind you while backing up. Install was challenging just figuring out if needed to remove bumper or not. After that was a breeze. Tapping in to rear taillights found the power wire for backup lights was different on each side. Left/driver was white/beige and right was white/violet. Both grounds were black. Will add picture tonight of how they look lit up.
These lights were an exceptionally troublesome and time consuming item to install, but the end result is great. They look great and they are VERY bright, even in a well lit shopping center at night. I haven't been off-road in the middle of nowhere with them, but I can already see I wont be disappointed. I will give Quadratec 1-star for making it seem like a breeze to install in their video (but they do show install time is 2-4). They also dont specify what tools they used, but once I figured it out it was much easier getting my reflector's off. Securing the screw that comes with the lights is a whole other story. You have two choices, the 1st, try to install the lights without removing the bumper and take 3-4 hours installing them. Second, remove the bumper and sensors if you have them, install the lights in 10 minutes, reinstall the bumper, and run the wires, which will take 3-4 hours. If you have help, they both may only take 2-3 hours. Besides the installation being difficult, these lights fulfill their intent and you wont be disappointed.
