Reviews for Oracle Lighting 5769-123 LED Projector Headlights with DRL and Turn Signal for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Overall I like the look of the headlights but nothing mentioned you’d also need to purchase the headlight mounting bracket. I had both original headlights pulled out and ready to install the new ones before I found out I needed the other parts. The wiring instructions could also use some work.
So a couple things! I like these but have had trouble since install. I emailed Quadratec support and they were no help! My last reply from them was, "Well maybe you should call technical support?" When I email support they should have technical support reply to me, not someone who knows nothing!!! I have decided to keep them because they do the two most important things I wanted, LED headlamps and amber turn signals (above my plow in the winter). I could not get the white halo DLs to work. I think the PCM/ECM interfered and could not solve it! (I did purchase the Y splitters)
I bought these lights for my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. They are super bright lights so much that oncoming traffic keeps flashing thinking I have my brights on. Had to readjust my beams downward as a result. MOST IMPORTANT! If you want the Halos to come on you must buy the Oracle Lighting 5851-504 Swichback Turn Signal Y Splitter Adapters which cost $18 a piece. PLEASE remember to buy 2 adapters. I realized when I got my shipment, they only come in singles. Really! Why? Quadratec, you need to fix this! Once you install everything, they work great. Halos will double as parking lights or flash orange when the turn signal is commanded.
Lights look great, but blinkers do not have the proper resistance and generate the fast blink bulb out CEL. I also failed to read the fine print that the splitters to wire the factory blinkers were sold separately, so hopefully that fixes the issue on my 12 Wrangler.
These are far superior to the stock headlights. Unfortunately they are not DRL (daytime running lights). I discussed this with the manufacturer and it was explained that the halo is powered by the paring light/turn signal circuit, so you have to have the parking lights on the have the DRL function(?) Not what I expected. Also, the turn signal function only works if you install the 5851-504 Y-adapters because the Jeep computer probably thinks the turn signal is burned out because it is not seeing the existing incandescent bulb. You must buy two y-adapters to make the turn signals work in a 2013 Wrangler, other years might not require them.
Looks good and works good. Disappointed in the “fit”. I had to improvise on the install, the light fixtures were just a little thinner than stock and they did not fit tight
LEDs are fine. The DRLs aren't true DRLs. They only activate when the parking lights or headlights are turned on. Certainly not mentioned in the description. In my mind, DRLs activate when the vehicle is started and turn off when the vehicle is stopped. Had I known this as the case, I would not have purchased and looked for LED only replacements.
After a while, I realized that the LEDs of the halos and the headlights interfere with the FM signal on the factory radio on my 2014 Wrangler JK. I was told by an Oracle rep that this is a known issue on 2014-15 Wranglers. Ferrite clips on the wires may help, but it didn't work in my case. Otherwise the lights themselves are nice.
