Reviews for Quadratec Pre-Runner LED Light Kit for 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL
5 for looks and 1 for install. Got these for Xmas from the kids and today was warm enough to go out after work and do a quick hook up... grill comes off easy enough and then threading the T shaped wire and connectors through the grill was a bear... had to bend a coat hanger and put a hook at the end to snag the connectors and drag them through all the gear on the driver side under the wiper fluid up to the fire wall ... now about 25 min into this... then getting to the light connector plug.. first under the car then stand on a bucket reach into the engine bay , can't reach up to it from under so attack it from top, pull the entire clip assembly off its attachment to the fender (something snapped) now I can see it clearly and pull up the red tab... once the tab is up it should open?..... nope... literally 30 minutes of manipulation with hands/pliers/ screwdriver (yes most of the plastic on one side is now cracked off.. but hey! what's electrical tape for anyway? Gave up on trying to get the connector apart after several you tube searches and no insight as to how to manipulate the connector plug to come apart... ok I'll put the lights in the grill so at least they will look put together, cut out the plastic grill bits and run the lights through and OMG how cheesy the connection status...no washer no screwing TERRIBLE.. just the rubber grommets that "should hold" the three lights in place.. even manipulating the grill caused tension on the wires resulting in them popping out of the grill like an eye falling out of the socket and dangling by the optic nerve.. ridiculous these vehicles tend to vibrate and get yanked around a bit.. what were you thinking?... ok so I'm headed to the local mod shop this Saturday at 9am because I have an appointment to come up with a better method of keeping the lights from falling out of the grill and they probably know how to get this clip/connector apart because I never figured it out. It's gonna cost 4x the price to get these installed and make them secure, c'mon!!! your videos are in now way reflective of the issues with this installation. As for "quick 10 minutes install...... lies all lies."
Final product looked great and quality is good. BUT, I had when instructions are BAD. Only way to get to the wiring harness was to remove wheel well liner. Say this from the get go and life is easier. Also fishing harness thru side of radiator was extremely difficult. I optted to go down around the driver headlight.
Review would have been a 4-5 if instructions where correct.
I have a 2018 Rubicon JL, the lights won't fit behind the grill as shown, the horns are their, I plan on moving them down to even with the bottom of the head lights
Junk. Glass covers popped off. 2 Lights no longer work.
