Reviews for Quadratec Pre-Runner LED Light Kit for 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL
Was a little hesitant about getting these cause I thought the horns would create interference but that wasn’t the case at all. Installation was very straightforward and took less than an hour. Take your time making the cuts to the grille. Start small, test fit, then cut as necessary. Once you pop the lights into the grommet they sit very snug. Overall very happy with them.
They look awesome and install took about 30 min. The wiring portion was a bit of a pain in the butt to route behind the headlight, but once you get a hand on it and can pull it through, there was no issue. The plug is a little tricky if you don’t feel like crawling under your Jeep to look at it, but it’s just like every other connector on these thing. Just pull the red tab and push down and it pops right out, then plug in the new harness and you’re all set. Super easy and it looks great. Very happy with this purchase.
I 'll give it a five outta five for now. install was straightforward but the Jeep's parking light harness was a little tougher than expected to disconnect. I always hate making a mod during install that can't be corrected without a replacement part (grill insert), but this time it was not so bad. I say a five outta five for now because I want to see how well the LED lights stay in the grill....If they pop out I'll reduce the rating.
Great price, fairly simple install, and looks great when finished.
You are fishing the cable through tight spaces. Just take your time.
Installed on ‘19 Rubicon JL 2DR
Easy to install and looks great. However, I had to make modifications for my requirements. I had installed the Bolt hood lock and could not install the LED in the center grill slot. So, I purchased two sets and combined them to have four LED lights. I think the four lights looks slightly better.
For under $40 these are wonderful. For anyone worried about cutting your grill, don’t. I cut small and shaved away excess as needed to fit the lights. The grill plastic is strong and once the lights are put in they hold everything together. The tie is is not as accessible as the installation video shows. They removed the clip holding the connector onto the frame. I did the same thing and it was very easy. Looks great. WARNING if you have the factory steel bumper with the Warn bull bar, it will cover the lights from certain angles. I would recommend this to anyone looking to add cheap and easy lighting accents.
Looks sharp. Nice touch.
Makes a lot of difference in the look of my new Jeep, relatively easy to install.
I'm giving 5 stars for overall great build quality of the kit. The color instructions were very easy to follow, but only lacking in the steps to locate the factory connector. My 2019 JLUR
connector location looked different than the photos.
Despite some of the other reviews and comments about installation, I found routing the harness from front to behind the light and near the fender connector very easy, which took just few seconds. You have to go through existing openings in the rubber shield next to radiator and feel for the "T" harness on other side to grab and route along fender wall just outboard of windshield washer reservoir. It helps to open the fender liner to peek for the connector from underneath, but it's not necessary, it's much easier to reach for it from the engine compartment. Just feel for the connector, which is held with a plastic push pin under the metal lip of body to fender join. Remove the connector from body by gently pushing down on connectors and releasing the push pin, then unlock the connector by pulling out the small red clip until it clicks and stops. Pay attention to the correct orientation of each connector when plugging them together, don't force them if they don't go in easy.
Before cutting the honeycomb on the grille consider if you will be adding a front camera or a hood lock in the future. If so, you should mount them a few openings lower for future installation.
Overall, it's a great product at a reasonable price and I would recommend it as it looks great on your Jeep.
The instructions were really good except for the part of looking under the fender. It should be noted that you either have to remove the inner fender liner or search inside the engine bay. I found the connector inside the bay along the driver's side fender. Other than that, everything was really easy. The lights look great and are really bright at night making you more visible.
