Reviews for Go Rhino RB20 Running Boards for 20-21 Jeep Gladiator JT
I got the ones with the bed liner coating and they look absolutely amazing. Removed the rock rail from the factory and just bolted these on in under 2 hours.
This is one of the used Mod’s you can add.
I realized it’s just not as easy to get into my Jeep JT for me now as it was back in the day getting into my 1987 Wrangler. Now 5 Jeep’s later they haven’t changed that much, but unfortunately I have.
Of all the Mods I’ve added to this JT, winch, bumper, light bar, bed rack and tent etc., hands down this is the most used one …at least a dozen times a day.
After looking over all possible options for steps this seemed to have best reviews overall, middle of the road price and 4 support bars.
For me it came well packaged, all the hardware, straightforward instructions (if you first look at a few you tube videos it’s very clear )
Took me about 90 mins total, that included removing the existing rocker bars.
Having a full length step not only makes entrance easy but reachable access to the full windshield and roof is very handy.
As usual Quadratec had it delivered in just a few days.
Good stuff.
Great product, looks amazing. Mine came with 4 brackets. Took about 2 hours, by myself, to install. Would definitely recommend to others.
Love the look of the RB20 running board on my 2020 Gladiator... No parts / hardware missing although the box came in open,WOOF... The installation was straight forward , thanks for the installation instruction provided. Great product!
They work.
Bed lining spray will last forever hopefully
I like the boards and am pleased with the looks on the vehicle.
There are a few things I would add so others considering these have a heads up.
1 There are no instructions included
2 Fat end of the boards goes towards front.
Tapered more slender end towards tear.
Use first three mounting locations starting at the front.
Very rear factory mount location is not used.
Will most likely fab up a rear bracket when time allows.
3 They only mount with three brackets per side unlike the factory design which mounts at 4 locations.
4 The included bolts/fasteners for the running board brackets where they attach at the verticle pinch weld of the rocker panel are fairly small. Only 1/4 ×20 bolts. Although the factory uses M6 metric studs welded to the rock sliders. They are all as one and don't move as much as the individual running board bracket that are used for the Rhino RB20 boards.
The provided bolts for the vertical threaded hole in floor location are fine but have individual washer as opposed to the factory bolts which have an attached washer at the head of the bolt. I re-used the original factory bolts at floor mount instead.
And then I made a trip to the hardware store and bought (20) M10 x1.5 25mm bolts, lock washers, and flats washer all in stainless so as not to rust. This larger bolt size centers much better in the factory holes and only required chasing the holes in the provided Rhino RB20 running board brackets with a 25/64th drill bit. This resulted in a nicely centered bracket without the sloppiness that the smaller 1/4" x 20 bolts allowed. And the M10 x 1.5 bolts are stronger.
When you unpack all the fasteners and profit them into the included brackets you'll see what I mean about the sloppiness.
Other than this I think they are a fair value.
Would have given 5 stars if better hardware and a forth bracket for rearmost location was provided.
Easy to install, I got the bed liner coating to help with the harsh winters here in PA. The only downside is they only provide 3 brackets for mounting instead of 4 as I feel they should come with. The extra length of the JT should warrant the additional bracket for added strength.
High quality, sturdy stuff but I removed it and went back to original after struggling to fit it on the truck. They are not contoured to the body of the cab, the running board is more of a triangle shape to accommodate the contour of the cab and therefore require a lot of adjustment to look right. I tried mounting it on both side as suggested by comments section to see which would look better, in the end it's either a narrow front that gets wider to the rear (which looks like sh!t) or lined up nicely with fenders but I would have to forego the rear most mounting bracket as it sticks out under the running board. All in all its a waste of money,
