Reviews for Go Rhino RB20 Running Boards for 20-21 Jeep Gladiator JT
Looks good, like the clean look and wide and sturdy step. Make sure you read the instructions and make sure you have all bolts (they are slightly different than what’s pictured in the instructions). Remember two washers got on either side of the pinch weld bolts for the brackets.
Excellent steps. I had these on my last two Ram trucks so it was an easy decision to put them on my Gladiator. The box they arrived in was pretty much destroyed but our FedEx guy is awesome and he and I made sure all parts were recovered from his truck and accounted for before he left. No damage to the steps thanks to box in a box shipping. The steps came with four brackets per side and installation was straight forward. The steps match the body lines and fenders perfect. They are wide at the front to match the front fenders and narrower at the rear to match rear fenders. When the outside corner of the front of the step is aligned with the outside edge of the front fender the back corner lines up exactly in the the same way with the rear fender for a precision fit with fenders and body line. Overall it took me about two hours to install in my garage taking my time. I have read a lot of reviews and watched some online installations about some people complaining about fit or steps not fitting correctly and the one thing I found in common with all of those types of reviews was operator error where they installed brackets backwards, switched sides between brackets and even installed the steps backwards with the wide end towards the rear. If you read the directions, take your time, look at the pictures provided, use the right tools your installation will be trouble free. I recommend these to anyone who is looking for a strong, durable good looking step for their Jeep or truck.
Nice looking running boards. Fairly easy to install but instructions not great. The reviews left by others helped a lot. For example the brackets aren’t all the same size so just match up to the spot you’re installing. Also, the rhino label goes towards the back so the width matches the fenders. Also if you have the stock Rails you’ll have to remove those first. Otherwise great product.
Got the Bedliner finish. Overall love the quality. Install was easy considering the instructions were slightly off. Mine came with 4 brackets per side unlike some of the earlier ones having come with 3. Also had to figure out that 2 of the total 8 brackets were placement specific due to the frame. Basically all of the hardware will be used. If you think you have to skip a bolt to make it fit, that bracket is incorrect.
Quadratec shipped out same day as ordered and I received in 2 days to KY. Overall great purchase and experience. Looks great!
They were recommended by a friend
My wife bought me these for Christmas (from Quadratec) - they were received really fast from Q-tec and I just finished installing them.
She's kind of short and has slight problems mounting up in this Gladiator Mohave.
First, she was careful to order the kit for the Gladiator. Even though the enclosed instructions were for three installation brackets per side - my kit included four brackets for each side - so all of the mounting locations on the bottom of the Gladiator get a mounting bracket for the sideboards.
Perhaps GO RHINO just decided to start shipping the product with four brackets per side? Anyway - I have no complaints ... there's a bracket now for every possible place you could put one without drilling more holes.
All of the hardware I received were black anodized (thankfully). After the install is complete, you can actually still see some of the bracket bolts and washers and it would be a real distraction if they were all chrome. The black blends in nicely with my granite gray metallic body paint. and the sideboards themselves.
My wife tested the boards and was very happy with how easily she can get in and out of the Gladiator now. I guess it's time to add 35" tires and make the truck higher now! Muahahaha!
My recommendation is to install the feet so that the front two feet point aft of the vehicle and the back two feet point forward. It's just a personal thing but if you don't put a bracket on the rear that points forward, then the width of the feet are going to limit how much you can shift the sideboard fore and aft. Both ends are tapered, and if the rear bracket points aft - it's going to stick out from under the sideboard unless you also move the sideboard aft.
With at least the front bracket pointing aft - and the rear bracket pointing forward, this will give you the maximum horizontal space to adjust the fore/aft position of each sideboard to where you want it.
There was a recommendation in the reviews to go for a larger screw in the horizontal bolt holes for the bracket mounting to the side of the Gladiator. I didn't do this for two reasons. First, black anodized hardware is kind of hard for me to come by - and as I said above, the black anodized hardware is going to look better than shiny stainless steel. The second reason is that the user recommended chasing out the holes in the brackets so that a larger bolt could fit. However, doing this would also remove the powder coat on the inside of the holes in the bracket - and that's where rust can start.
I think all of the hardware shipped with this product was perfect - so I used it. There was also enough of it (just don't lose any - there wasn't a single spare piece of hardware at the end of the installation).
YMMV, but for me ... GO RHINO and Q-tec did a great job for me! Zero complaints and very happy.
Excellent product! Very easy to install!
