What's new for the 2015 Wrangler?

Improving on its already legendary design, Jeep rolled into 2015 with numerous enhancements for the Wrangler, as well as new packages, features, colors, and special editions.

For 2015, brand enthusiasts have the option of several Special Edition vehicles such as the Wrangler Altitude, Freedom, Rubicon Hard Rock, and Willys Wheeler Edition. All, except for the Willys Wheeler (4dr only) are offered in both 2- and 4-door models, as well as automatic and manual transmissions.

Of course, the standby models are back as well in the Sport, Sahara and Rubicon, with plenty of new color choices such as Baja Yellow, Copper Brown, Firecracker Red, Sunset Orange and Tank. Returning colors for 2015 are Anvil, Billet Silver, Black, Bright White and Hydro Blue. Also returning are iconic classic round headlamps, seven-slot grille, trapezoid wheel flares, removable doors, exposed hinges, a fold-down windshield and removable tops and doors.

New features across the Wrangler line in 2015 include a standard eight speaker audio system with an improved sound bar, as well as an optional nine-speaker premium system that includes an amplifier and subwoofer. Additionally, all models now come with a standard Torx Tool kit to help remove doors, top and bumper end caps, while Wrangler Sport editions have a new 16-inch Black Steel wheel and 31-inch Bridgestone Dueler Tire combo available.

Once again, all Wrangler vehicles are powered by the award-winning Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine that delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft of torque. Fuel economy sits around 17/21 mpg for city/highway, while towing capacity remains at 2,000 lbs on the Wrangler and 3,500 lbs on the Unlimited. All models are available in either the 6-speed manual transmission, or 5-speed automatic.

The Wrangler Sport (base MSRP $22,995) is usually the line’s most demanded version and it continues to offer the iconic body-on-frame design with front Dana 30 and rear Dana 44 axles, Command-Trac NV241 part-time, two-speed transfer case, 16-inch standard tires, and four wheel disc brakes with vented front and solid rear discs. In addition, an optional Trac-Lok limited-slip rear differential provides extra torque and grip in lower-traction environments like sand, snow and mud.

Wrangler Sahara (base MSRP $28,995) models also include Dana 30 front and Dana 44 rear axles, as well as power windows, heated mirrors, Command-Trac NV241 transfer case, 18-inch painted or polished-aluminum wheels, with a color-matched hardtop.

On the top end Wrangler Rubicon (base MSRP $32,195), both front and rear axles feature the Dana 44 heavy-duty edition, as well as a Rock-Trac NV241 two-speed transfer case, electric front and rear locking differentials, disconnecting front sway bar and 32-inch tires on 17-inch painted or polished aluminum rims that are all engineered to get you through just about any kind of extreme terrain you may encounter during your off-pavement adventures.

As well equipped as your 2015 Wrangler is from the factory, there is always room for improvement! You can check out all the available 2015 Jeep Wrangler accessories here.
