Another Specialty Equipment Market Association show, and another piece of hardware for the Jeep Wrangler.
SEMA Tuesday named Jeep Wrangler 'Hottest 4x4-SUV' during an awards breakfast for the show's opening day. The award win was the eighth in a row for Wrangler, and no other vehicle has won the award since its 2010 inception.
“The Jeep Wrangler is iconic in the aftermarket world, and the SEMA community continues to embrace the vehicle,” said SEMA President and CEO Chris Kersting. “Given Jeep brand’s versatility and mass appeal, it’s not surprising that SEMA Show exhibitors have voted the Jeep Wrangler the Hottest 4x4-SUV year after year.”
Wrangler's top finish also further cements the brand as the leading 4x4 vehicle around, which has to make Fiat Chrysler executives feel good as the automaker is poised to launch a redesigned Wrangler later this year.
The 2018 Wrangler JL is set for a press reveal November 29th at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and the vehicle is expected to hit dealership lots around the middle of January.
“Customization is a key element to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. The SEMA Award for the Jeep Wrangler and special recognition for the Ram Truck and Dodge brands showcases the passion generated by our vehicle brands,” said Pietro Gorlier, FCA's Head of Mopar Parts and Service. “The Jeep Wrangler is a unique case in the industry, with 98 percent of all Wrangler vehicles sold equipped with at least one of our accessories. And as the Jeep brand prepares to unveil the next-generation Wrangler, Mopar will be ready to support the most capable vehicle in the world with a new portfolio of products.”
The SEMA Awards, launched in 2010, are the SEMA Show’s definitive OEM award, shining a light on the hottest vehicles that showcase and launch aftermarket parts.
The SEMA Show runs through Friday, Nov. 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
