Description
When modifying your Jeep with larger tires or deeper gears the speedometer is often put out of calibration. These pinion gears easily put the speedometer back to it's factory settings allowing you to know your correct speed and mileage. Easy and quick to install in the transfer case tail housing, dont forget a new O-Ring to prevent leaks after the swap!

Questions
Daniel S.
How do I find out the gear ratio ?
Easiest way would be to supply us your vin number. You could also determine with the following method. Checking gear ratio without the removal of a differential cover Thanks for your inquiry.

hello
i have a JEEP XJ from 1989 with a standard transfer case what its the Speedometer Drive Gear i need to by??
best regards
Please contact our sales department at 1-800-745-5337. We need to know your tire size and gear ratio to determine the proper speedometer gear.

This speedometer gear is listed as for jeeps '55 to '93 but does not reference Transfer Cases. Will this gear work in a Dana 20 ? I have a CJ from 1978 with the Dana Spicer 20 and I am now running 31" tires on a 3.73 rear ratio.
Does this gear fit and how do you install it. My speedo runs from a mechanical cable, not an electric sensor as your instructions show.
Hello,
These are the long shaft cable driven speedometer gears so this will fit your application just fine. Installation would be relatively the same, would just remove the cable instead of having to remove the wiring pigtail.
