Bestop 8000815 Sport Bar Covers in Black Denim for 87-91 Jeep Wrangler YJ

The end product is good, but it needs so many design upgrades. Strong fabric and thick foam. These 2 pluses are actually a problem given the zipper design. The zippers need to be reversed where the 2 sides attach in order to close. The thick foam padding needed to be cut/removed in many areas in order to connect the zippers. It was a 2 person job . HORRIBLE ZIPPER DESIGN!!

It was a struggle putting this on my 91 Wrangler. It turned out to be quite a struggle getting it zipped up. The foam is a pain in the butt to work with and kept coming out of place. Fit is not great around the y and seatbelt post. Ended up having to trim the foam up to get it all to fit.

It looks okay once it is on but there is some bagginess around the y.

If you have a 1991 Wrangler consider getting something else. The hoop cover assembly fits poorly (installed on a 87F day no less). The holes for the upper seat belt mounts don't line up with the actual mounts and there's some weird bagginess where the rear bar support meets the hoop. I suspect the 91's bar is sightly different than earlier models.

The zippers are really not fit for purpose. The pin is so weak and flexible it bends out of the box while you're trying to zip the cover closed. I'm going to have to sew the tape at the pin and box shut just to keep the cover on. The zipper jams on the slightest excuse and given that it's open (not closed like OEM) cell foam padding underneath expect LOTs of jams during installation. Running a popcicle stick in front of the slide as you go helps. Seriously, my rain jacket has better zippers than these covers.

Overall disappointed in this product. Have other Bestop products on the rig and have been happy with them. Won't by these covers again though.
