Rancho RS9000XL Series Front Shock Absorber Reviews
These are awesome! At first, I did not think there was much of a difference, but during a road trip in waves of a gulf coast storm going the same direction my JK was battered like a bobblehead on wheels. I stopped and increased the shocks from the 2nd setting (soft) to 5-6 and the bobbling got better. About 45 minutes later adjusted them to 8-9 (stiff) and my JK was being battered as one unit. I had much more control and stability. However, when driving around New Orleans streets (like off-roading), the stiff settings are jarring to the bones.
Lower/Softer settings: Driving around town
Higher/Stiffer settings: highways and storms
Great improvement over stock on my 13 JKU.
I will never set up another 4x4 without adjustable shocks! I bought these shock based on Overland Journal rating them #1 in their shock test. I have had them on the vehicle for over two year have done technical trail in Death Valley, Sedona, Vermont Overland rally and many more local trips. Run them on the beaches in the Outer banks of North Carolina, Done 500 miles of dirt road on the Trans Labrador Highway and they just work! I set them soft for slow trails, dial them up for the long highway part of the trip. If you're trying to decide buy these!
