Description

The seemingly impossible task of dash speaker replacement is now quick and simple with a Quadratec Exclusive Custom Speaker Kit that can be installed in less than 60 minutes! Factory original front speakers had inefficient "paper" cones that deteriorate over time resulting in poor sound quality or none at all. To make matters worse, these speakers are "bird caged" behind the dash and extremely difficult to replace. Kit comes complete with specialized tools and adaptor plates making replacement of front speakers on all '87-95 Wranglers possible without tearing the entire dashboard apart. Kit features two Kicker DS 460 4" x 6" Speakers with high performance synthetic cones that are durable and weather resistant. The convenient factory plug-n-play ends require no wire splicing. Includes special machined hex nut socket for easy removal and reinstallation of speaker nuts.

Details

NOTE: The key to our installation is the drilling of a single 1/4" hole to each side of the dash face to surgically eliminate the fastener stud and nut that is impossible to reach. A small unobtrusive button head screws then fastens through the dash face at these holes. Our kit includes a precision drill template, drill bit and fasteners for perfect results. Wrangler front speakers never sounded this good!

Easy plug and play kit.

These speakers sound infinitely better than the factory speakers I had! I was hesitant at first because you have to drill a hole on either side of the dash but they give you a black painted screw to fill the hole, and after a while I forgot they weren’t even factory screws. They are also plug and play, no splicing required if you have factory connectors.

My one gripe is that the socket tool included was the wrong size, so I ended up using one of my own sockets. I also loosened the bolts that hold the dash on to give me more room, not required but I have large hands.

Overall very satisfied with my purchase, I’d recommend these to any YJ owner who wishes to upgrade from those crappy old OEM ones.
