Description
Rock Hard 4x4 Parts JK gas tank skid is made from 3/16" steel plate laser cut and CNC bent for a perfect fit. Removal of the factory skid is not necessary as the Rock Hard skid bolts right over it using factory bolts and one additional one on 2-door models and three additional bolts on 4-door Unlimiteds. Drilling is required for these 3/8" bolts. The two front factory bolts are replaced with tapered bolt head protectors to allow rocks to slide across them with ease and still allow you to get a socket on the bolt heads for removal. Sides are tapered along the full lenght of the JK for better clearance. Comes powder coated black with a slight texture. Choose from either Steel (69lbs) or Aluminum (29lbs).

Rock Hard 4X4 Fuel Tank Skid Plate Reviews
Joe M.

I am super impressed with the Rock Hard skids (engine, transfer case, and fuel tank) that bought for my ‘14 JKU. From the quick shipping to the fit, finish, and packaging of the skids I couldn’t be more pleased! I was able to install them by myself with a bit of patience, watching the YouTube videos over and over, and using 1 floor jack and stands for the Jeep and 1 floor jack to position the skids.
Questions
Tom G.
Is this like the OEM skid plate from Factory
No. This works along with the factory skid plate to provide added protection. Thank for your inquiry.
Randolph W.
Can I remove the factory fuel tank skid (it is corroded, damaged, holey) and just use the aluminum skid plate?
No, the factory skid plate is still required.
