Skyjacker 2-2.5 Dual Rate Long Travel Coil Suspension System with Shocks Reviews
Great lift so far, looks nice with every thing being black. Never lifted anything before so it took me about 8 hours. Overall the instructions were pretty straight forward, took some YouTubing and my own research to fill in the gaps but overall the install wasn't terrible.
So I was looking for a lift that would allow me to run some trails without getting to crazy and still use it for a daily driver without doing a lot of other mods due to issues stemming from a taller lift height. Seemed like a 2.5" lift would fit the bill. Everything went together fine except for the following: The only instructions in the box was for installing the large bracket to the diff plate but only if you have the Dana 44 rear end, which I don't. So no instructions at all that pertain to my JK Wrangler Sport 4 door. I had to go online for the instructions. Really?? Just print a few extra and put some in the box. The kit doesn't come with any sway bar links nor any brake line relocation brackets. You're supposed to reuse all 4 of the OEM sway bar links, however this puts the front sway bar being angled way below parallel, almost to 45* downward. Seems like on full droop the sway bar link could fold over and end up in the reverse position from where it started. Why can't this kit be like all the other kits that I've researched where you put the OEM rear links to the front and put new longer ones in the kit for the back. With the brake lines the online instructions say to attach the brake lines back to the original position. That seems to make them really tight even if you try to straighten out the bends in the lines. So I ended up spending $100 extra for new rear sway bar links for a 2.5" - 3.5" lift and brake line relocation brackets which won't be here for several more days. Just like most of us I was trying to get this done in one weekend. I would have gladly spent that much more for the kit to start with just to have everything I needed to make it seem comfortable in my mind to operate. Overall the Jeep looks so much better lifted. Seems as though this gave me more than 2.5" of lift. When comparing the new springs with the old spring there was about 3.5" of difference in height. Hope I don't get into drive line issues - exactly what I wanted to stay away from.
