Rough Country 2.5in Suspension Lift Kit Reviews
Installed on a 1982 CJ-7 Base to replace sagging older lift and as part of a light restoration of the Jeep I am doing. I've never done one of these before and I am a complete novice. Everything works and fit, but I notice a couple of items. There are ZERO instructions. I found a single video from a guy an install on an old WIllys that saved me. Second, if you are also a novice get or rent good airtools. Don't waste your time with hand tools or garbage low-torque air tools. Get real stuff. You'll be glad you did. Third, get new shackle hangers, eye bolts, shackles, and spring plates. Its an extra hundred bucks and its worth it. And finally, the second and only minor thing about this kit that I can say is that a couple of the U-Bolts didn't line up with the holes on the spring plates. They had to be clamped/worked into place. I don't know if this was because of the spring plate bolt holes being off though. So, I cannot mark doing RC for that.
I am putting 5 Stars on this review for the ease of install until I put enough miles on it to maybe update the review if able.
Fit the CJ5 well except for 1 front spring which was short the correct bushing or the rear back spring hanger. Also box containing all the small stuff and shocks was in real bad shape with big holes some taped. with no packing slip it was to tell if everything arrived. but it did
