Quake LED Tempest Series RGB 7" LED Headlight Kit Reviews
The high beams are BRIGHT and do the job very well. The dim beams however.... Well let’s just say I can see the road better with 2 5$ flashlights mounted on the bumper with duct tape. And seeing as how the dim beam is used 70% of the time, I don’t recommend this product.
Quadratec has always been an awesome company, with great customer service. Nothing negative to say about that.
These headlights though...da*n. Not so great. The construction and wiring is good. They do feel solid, but that's about it. The cost is ridiculous considering the quality of light these produce. I'd hoped the whole "You get what you pay for" idea would have panned out in my favor, but sadly no.
The low beam is beyond low. I seriously have brighter flashlights. I literally had to use my LED fog lights to see at night. Nowhere near the light output they boast on the Quake website. In fact, I should have known better after reaching out to Quake directly, several times, about these specific lights and I never received any response. The Bluetooth RGB function was pretty good once I got it to connect to my Android. Based on the characters in the app, it uses your typical Chinese/Japanese LED apps you can download from the app store. However, the actual RGB LED lights are worse than the low beams. You really can't see it during the day unless you catch them at the right angle and even then you can see multiple colors reflecting at different angles, which could get you in trouble in some places for light color violations.
I would seriously not recommend this particular set to anyone that cares about actually seeing the road at night. I've had better luck with similarly cheaper versions of this same light from Amazon...but that low beam was horrible even compared to the cheaper ones. If I had to drop an opinion here I'd say they used a cheap knockoff headlight from China and stuck their own logo on it. Hence the RGB app they used. Some advice to Quake, if you are going to market an American made RGB light as your own, develop your own RGB app to go with it and work on the R&D.
