Mopar Windshield Header Channel Kit Reviews
Absolutely amazing. Replaced in about 2 hours alone but I do have handyman experience. That includes time time to figure out how the heck to do it. It was a PITA figuring out how to flip the fabric around and keep the channel in place. Start in the middle and work your way out switch from side to side. After each screw make sure the end pieces are still in a good enough location to push in and not way out of the channel. Wind noise which started at 90dB at 75mph is now at 73 dB at 75mph. The change is extremely noticeable and we don’t have to yell at each other anymore. I would recommend this product for anyone who hasn’t upgraded their windshield header from the stock plastic.
If you are trying to find the header clamp that is made of metal, this kit has it. My old plastic header plate was technically supposed to be replaced by a service bulletin for free due to warping and excessive wind noise (mine was whistling at almost 100dB). However, my model year was not included in that bulletin, and my Jeep was an early 09 built in 2008, so I had to buy it myself.
Needless to say, way better than than the old distorted plastic header clamp that had distorted my actual header. I've lowered the noise in the cabin at 70MPH from 100dB, to a mere 70dB! (I have no carpet, it's a Jeep thing!)
I was able to install the kit in about 4 hours and am really pleased with the results. Interior noise is greatly diminished. No instructions were included, but I worked slowly and made sketches as I went along. If someone really installed the kit in one hour, it must have been his 50th kit or he must be one heck of a mechanic.
