The retainer installs in seconds by simply slipping over the factory belt rail on your Jeep’s tub.

Can I still put back the hardtop after installing the Mopar Tailgate Bar Retainers?
No the retainers must be removed for hardtop installation.

Per the soft top instructions, there is a bolt to hold these down. I ordered retainers so I could put a boot cover on, but they did not come with a bolt. What should we use?
Yes the bolts are #06512235AA, which are the same used for the hardtop if you have one, you can reuse that.
