Go Rhino Rockline Rear Stubby Bumper Reviews
Installed this bumper a few days ago. The positives:
1.) Bolt on no drilling required
2.) Good powder coat and no blemishes
3.) Packaged very well
4.) Integrated step is a cool design
5.) The room for the aftermarket lights is cool and ability to pain to color match the car is nice on the mesh / outer ring
6.) Free license plate mount
Negatives:
1.) No hitch received and you have to remove the OEM one to install this bumper (as well as wiring harness for the hitch receiver)
2.) Concerns regarding off road ability - we'll test it and see but hopefully there is enough coverage to cover us on the trails
3.) Go Rhino logo plastered all over it. Wish there was a way to take it off.
Overall, we're satisfied with the bumper. Hoping it can hold up to the trails and we really like the looks of it.
The bumper looks great. Function wise it’s also great in that the backup sensors worked easy with minor modifications. We removed the retainer from the stock number and drilled them into the bumper using the mounting brackets that came with the bumper.
Like the option to customize the mesh or frames of the reverlight inserrs. Has to take a star off due to the fit and difficulty of the install.
Don’t think this bumper has been properly tested or modified for a JL. It simply does not fit the frame. The frame in the JL rear is wider. We had to do a ton of hammering to bend it just enough for it to hold, used a car jack, rubber mallet, filed the edges down, sprayed WD40 and anti-seize. Hours of work and persistence and finally got it in. We called support at GoRhino and they weren’t very helpful.
Debated on whether to leave 3 or 4 stars but decided that the look and function were good enough to leave a 4.
