B&M Racing Magnum Grip Pro Stick Shifter Reviews
Not a professional so this was a two day job; I took my time. The instructions were simple and straightforward with good color pics. You will need metric sockets 18, 15, 13, 11, 10, 10 deep and torx in a 40 & 45. For me the only non-binding route for the new HD cable took it across starter wiring. (We’ll see about chaffing)
As for the operation, the B&M shifter with it’s various lockouts and pivoting grip takes some getting used to. A half grip will allow it to disengage and move into PARK which is completed with a firm “push to set click” positive engagement. I managed to get the traction control light to illuminate once while shifting around 1st & 2nd at low speed on first test drive. Not sure why. Will call B&M.
The shifter cable attachments are all solid metal, fully adjustable and devoid of any OEM style fragile bushings. Overall a well built steel HD unit. Just realize it won’t be anything like the factory unit in driving style. Minus one star for having to use some finesse here and there to negotiate shifting through lockout gates and park set.
I originally installed this to replace failed shifter cable bushings and an inter-lock cable that kept me from removing the ignition key.
