B&M Racing Extended Transfer Case Handle Reviews
Gives a great look to the interior of the JK. Plus, now it's not such a long reach for the shifter. Really a cut-and-dry replacement. About an hour total if this is all your doing.
A *must have* upgrade along with the B&M racing shifter stick. These two products are upgrades that Jeep should consider offering as factory options.
This stick makes using the T-case actually practical. The higher position is very comfortable and the added length makes shifting hugely easier than the tiny stock shifter.
I am using this with the Sickspeed cueball T-Case knob and thread adapter. It has been fantastic and has had no issues in 2 years.
A note on installation:
The position of the shift knob is not adjustable, so if you are using this with the B&M racing shifter as well, you need to make sure that the racing shifter is angled so it won't collide with the T-Case shifter when in 1st and 2nd. Apart from that, installation was easy. Remember to twist the T-Case knob back and forth really quickly while pulling to remove it easily.
I always thought that the stock transfer case handle on the Wrangler JK was kind of an inside joke that Jeep engineers were playing on the public. If they made it any shorter I could tie my shoes while I was down there. The transfer case handle on my 1986 Toyota 4x4 pickup was more logically designed.
This simple part completely corrects that glaring design misstep.
The installation literally took minutes. (There’s a great video on YouTube from Autoedits) The hardest part was getting my center console back on when I was finished.
I’ve seen some reviews here mentioning clearance and problems with the heavy duty cable. I really can’t speak to any of that. All I can say is on my 2012 JK Sport, it dropped right in and works flawlessly. And pared with my B&M shifter, it looks awesome.
Great and easy mod.
