Reviews for Tuffy 345-01 Security Deck Enclosure for 18-24 Jeep Wrangler JL
Got this without the sub woofer or lockbox option. I had previously removed my rear seats in my Wrangler JLU so I can't comment on that. Install was easy for one guy. I like the way I can now easily store all my camping and rockhounding stuff because this gives me a lower and upper shelf area. I rigged a couple of ratchet straps from the roll bar to the floor to keep the upper stuff from flying forward in the event of a hard stop. The security storage is great but I got this mainly for the additional storage area it gives me.
Looks like a great solution to the security issue of having a soft top!
Received my deck In the mail and it was an easy install. The item was packed well and unlock some others mine arrived with no damage or scratches. They are wrapping up the prop rod now which I think helps prevent scratching. I also had all the required hardware making it an easy install. I personally had no issues with the stability of the core deck. It did help to keep things loose so once everything was loosely bolted I could let it settle in a natural way to slightly align things. I did get a bit of rattle on bumps with the prop rod but adding a felt pad fixed that and now I don't notice it at all. So far I'm very happy with my purchase and am looking forward to using it more very soon!
Initially I received the wrong part. I called Quadratec and they rectified the issue immediately.
works great. although the screws for the floor mount were not long enough, I just didnt use the spacers. I see this has been a problem for a while Tuffy should have fixed it by now by providing longer bolts. Read the instructions.
Relatively easy to install total time about three hours once I figured out how the different pieces fit together. And like others have said. I didn't tighten everything up until I had it all fit together. The one thing I did different from the instructions. I put the 6 side panel connection wing nut on the out side of the enclosure which left no obstructions on the inside to load items. It was a little tricky with the 2 that attach the side panels to the floor brackets. Had to use a pair of channel locks to reach down the side to tighten the wing nuts. Now there are no obstructions on the interior. Smooth sailing.
Easy install, easy removal when I don't need it. Living topless in Florida this is a great way to secure my bed or prevent from having to leave the tool bag at home because the top is off.
I just got my security deck enclosure installed. The installation was super easy, until I needed to put the top on. I actually took the back off, then put the top on, then put the back on again. It helps to keep everything loose, especially the L-brackets that mount it to the Jeep, and tighten it all up at the end. My first drive, I noticed the prop rod rattling against the side, which I had read a disappointed review over, but I put some of those felt sticky pads on it and that was a simple solution. I haven't tried to get my golf clubs in there yet, I am pretty sure they will fit, but I might have to take my driver out of the bag first, but that gives you an idea of how big it is. The top and the back can be removed easily without tools if you need bigger storage space. Some other complaints were about it not being compatible with the soft top, not sure about that. I have a hard top and it fits great. I am really happy that I can now go out with the top/doors off and still be able to lock things up. I am really happy with my purchase!
Looks like it will be a nice custom looking fit for some lockable storage.
I returned combo package and will only be repurchasing tail gate lock box. No fault of yours just had to change plans
