Reviews for CURT 13392 2" Receiver Hitch for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL
I have previously purchased Curt towing accessories and they have always been of good quality
Very easy to install. It says to take muffler lose from hangers but can be done without doing this if you have the tools. May require reaming out two if the four holes in the bumper if yours does not align correctly from the factory. I did not have to do this.
I don't see this product fitting up to a EcoDiesel Wrangler
I have a Curtis trailer and thought I pair it with the hitch. This hitch is burly, nice thick wields heavy duty stuff for a 2in hitch. For the price, its killer.
EZ install
Super easy install, 4 bolts and done! Highly recommend.
2019 Wrangler JL Unlimited Sport S. There were no pre-existing bolts/nuts to contend with, install took 15 minutes, which included making a cup of iced coffee. Easy-peezy!
Read the helpful tips in the reviews. Well made receiver, very sturdy. Installed this on my wife's Jeep on Mother's Day in about 15 minutes. On a 2019 Wrangler Sahara JL, you need an 18mm socket or wrench to remove two factory bolts that attach the bumper to the frame. Good news is there was room between frame and exhaust to fit a socket driver. Save the bolts, the nuts are welded on to the bumper mount bracket, and don't match the thread pattern of the supplied 3/4" bolts, so you'll re-use the two factory bolts. Then spread the gap between the bumper mount and frame, sliding the rear part of receiver in between. Use the two factory bolts to secure to the factory welded nuts and tighten with 18mm socket. Switch to 3/4" socket and wrench to attach two of the provided bolts/washers/nuts and secure the last two mounting holes. Then drink a beer with the Mrs, and suggest she might want to tow a little fishing boat. She will argue that she needs a hitch cover with flip flops for when she's not using the hitch mounted bike rack.
Exactly what was advertised, great alternative if you did not get the factory installed hitch. Sturdy and very easy to install!
Bought this Curt hitch a week ago and installed this weekend on a 2018 Sahara JL. It's an easy install. The key is undoing the two galvanized bolts (frustrating that they are 18mm while the Curt bolts are 3/4"), sliding the hitch between the bumper bracket with the welded nuts, and then installing the hitch using the two galvanized bolts for the inside holes and two of the 3/4" bolts that come with the hitch. It's a tight fit but a few bangs with a rubber mallet did the trick.
