Reviews for Mopar 82215349AB Center High Mounted 3rd Brake Light Relocation Kit for 18-24 Jeep Wrangler JL
GOOD QUALITY
QUALITY...EASY INSTALL!
Looks great. Pretty easy to install overall, just make sure you have the proper tools w/ extensions to fit through the little holes to tighten the screws. The only issue I foresee in the future is that it will take a little extra work to rotate the tires (if you are rotating all 5 of course).
Did the job and looks cool Expensive for what you get. Also you will need to carey a Rachel extension with you to get spare off
Easy to install and looks great. You will need to carry with you all the tools needed to install also to remove if you ever need to use the spare. I’d give this five stars but Mopar’s price is ridiculous. This should not be $85 for two lug nuts, some screws, and a bracket.
It is expensive for what you get. The kit should include a short 4-6” pigtail, as you will need to disassemble the light assembly every time you pull your spare tire including the light assembly. If there was a pigtail you wouldn’t have disassemble light part of the kit but only disconnect at the pigtail vs unscrewing the plastic light housing each time. To remove my spare tire, I now need to carry T25 Torx, Long Torx, Lug nut lock key and 22mm socket.
Looks great and seems to do the job.
The issue was when I went to remove for tire rotation. The lugs were very difficult to get off.
They seem to be cheaper in quality and the weather must have impacted them.
This thing is a kludge. You probably don't need it. Installing it once is ugly enough. Worse, you have to uninstall it to use the spare tire and reinstall it after changing tires to drive to get the spare fixed, and then do it all again when you get it fixed. I ordered it because Jeep hadn't started supplying the extension pieces for the CHMSL that is above the spare tire. Turns out, you can get by without the extensions if your tires aren't too large. (37x12.5 tires are not too large, but they are probably the largest you can use without the extensions. I'd rather have a CHMSL on the roof of my hard-top, which I am unlikely to every take off, in any case. Then it wouldn't block my rear view and it wouldn't need to be installed and uninstalled.
