Reviews for Sony DSX-A415BT Stereo Receiver with Bluetooth
Works well. Install easy enough. Overall function good. One star off for finicky main button.
Fit was good, wiring harness connected as expected. '00 Cherokee XJ
Eh, I wish it was better review as I love all things Quadratec and services is always great. Unfortunately this is as the other reviews have noted. It works but its flimsy. I am referring to the faceplate adapter that you purchase for the the TJ with the radio.
Most of the problem with this purchase was the mounting of the radio to the adapter. There is nothing of substance to hold the radio in place. No screws or anything except a few small "bendable" metal tips that hold it in place by press. Its just not tight and bounces on every bump and you can hear the noise of plastic on metal on every bump when radio is off. It's not that easy an installation and once the metal tips are bent its permanent so its staying in now until it breaks and falls out. I doubt it will but its definitely not secure enough for me. It was nice though that it came with pre-connected wiring that matched TJ OEM wiring adapters.
The Radio itself seems fine and meets the need for a good low end radio. Its just weirdly has no case included for the detachable faceplate and there's no protective cover for the radio face in the dash when the faceplate is off. The base connection is there which I am sure will weather over time, but its ok for low end radio.
I am still happy that my radio works again as the factory OEM one which I loved finally lost speakers and refurbished ones are very pricey.
Thanks
Don't plan to turn volume down or up on a trail. Next thing you know you are adjusting the fade/sub etc. Control knob is real sensitive which also control volume one slight push in and your adjusting something else besides volume. Bluetooth kicks in and out I found it easier just using cord to my phone.
Nice fit, easy to install a little pricey found the same one and speakers for less money
I ordered this to replace my factory stereo. Installation was a breeze and it sounds good. I have 2 main problems with it. If the BT is hooked up and you shout off the key for only a moment, when it syncs back up the signal is choppy. We have to pause for a while and then it's fine.
The main button so sensitive and has multiple functions so when your on the trail and bumping around you lose the volume control and have to go back and figure out how to get to volume again. Good for a car on pavement but not very good on the trail.
Synced 2 phones once and still cant get the second to sync again. Too complicated for a simple stereo.
