Reviews for QuadraTop Adventure Top S Soft Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door
Love having the flip top. Installation is not as easy as it looks. Still having a problem with the side flaps by the door frame, very poor design, they don't snap in and stay there. One side did stay put until I opened the top, then it was loose and flapped in the wind. I finally used Velcro on frame and top to keep it secure. So far it works like a charm.
We've had this soft top on our daughters 2012 JK Wrangler for the past three summers.
We have always had a problem with the channels above the doors filling with water when it rains and while she's driving it leaks onto her and her passengers seat. We can't figure out how the water is getting in there. We love the look of the soft top but are not happy with the amount of water that leaks in.
It works but the quality has gone down substantially. I had to redrill and modify some parts to assemble it. It’s also much more noisy than my previous one.
This was nearly identical (and I'll bet completely) to the Rampage top. It didn't work out for me (neither did the Rampage). I live in a cold climate, and it's too snug. This one was returned, but Quadratec was awesome about it. If these tops were built with an extra 1/2" of material on each side, they'd be perfect. Until that happens, you'd better live in the south if you want to enjoy this one.
Zippers are horrible. Both zippers on back window broke and I am having a hard time getting a replacement window ( I have a 2 door 2017 Wrangler Willy). Can't find any parts for this window on the Quadratec web site and I am using the part numbers that are in the installation instructions. Thinking of just bagging it and going back to my OEM top that came with the jeep.
I bought this top thinking it was a good deal, but when I installed it the zipper on the left rear broke immediately. Quadratec did a great job getting it replaced quickly but here I am with another broken zipper, this time on the right rear. The problem: the male end of the zipper is weak and not attached to the material so it breaks as soon as you try to run the zipper and pressure is applied. I still like the top but I made my own fix for the problem, I bought a marine grade heavy duty zipper and sewed it on. No problems now and have been very happy with the top.
I suppose watching the video may have helped, however, I completed the install per the instructions included. It took a couple hours start to finish. The only issue I ran into is that I have a gap at the handle side of both doors. I used the round alignment hole for the door/window re-enforcement and it seems like they’re not forward enough at the bottom. Not sure what the issue is, but I’m guaranteed to get wet when it rains.
So far I like the look. Didn't realize it didn't fold back like the factory install to take it totally down. Also on my 2010 2 door wrangler sport the rear window hits the head rests of the back seat when they are in. Wish that would have been noted.
Good top, no leaks. Sunroof is great under 70mph, but then gets kind of scary. I had just a few issues. 1. The door channels don't stretch the fabric flat, and modification is needed to "extend" the top wider than the factory drilling placement. 2. The flapping is worse than the OE top with a window cracked, especially when its warm. 3. The windows STILL don't stay put in the door channel, much like the OE tops. 4. The door channels don't fill the gap to the door seal, and there is a 1/8th in. gap on both of my doors at the rear of the front doors. 5. The zippers are cheap and the rear window zipper broke during installation. 6. I have been waiting for 2 months to get a rear window replacement, due to the zipper. Of course I thought this would be faster, considering Quadratec manufactures the top. Overall, it's not a bad top for the price and looks great, I just feel like there wasn't enough time put into the fitment process.
This is a cost effective soft top that also offers a more aggressive look with the fast back styling. That being said, this is a very cheap soft top.
The first issue I had with the top were the weak latches that secure the top to the windshield. Going about 55-60 on the highway would cause the top to blow open about half an inch letting a ton of wind inside the cab. Thankfully the latches don't completely unlatch or my soft-top would just be ripped off by the wind. It's not a huge issue but I do have to re-latch the topper every time I get off the highway. I emailed Quadratec about the issue but apparently I'm the first person to ever have this issue, they were no help.
If you take you soft-top on and off a lot this one won't survive long. The stitching holding the zippers onto the back windshield is slowly ripping apart. It seems like every time I take the soft-top off it reduces its life. I'm super careful because I've also had both thumb tabs for the zippers break off. I use zip ties now instead.
The tailgate bar is not a good design in general no matter what top you get. It is an item that receives a ton of wear. You should probably get a extra tailgate bar because this cheap one has an even shorter lifespan.
Overall I like the look of the top. I like the function of the top. It keeps the elements out. It's a good top for the price. It has it's quirks. You will be replacing parts in a years time.
