Reviews for Vision X Vortex Halo LED Headlight Pair for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I bought these with the high/low beam converters. Installation was very easy and straightforward, I used a tie wrap to secure the cannon plugs together. Simple and foolproof solution. The lights are bright and appear well made, however I have a bad flicker that I’m now having to buy the anti-flicker wiring harness for. Very disappointing. I’m not sure if the flicker is due to the lights or the hi/lo harness as I didn’t test the lights with the engine running until I had it all back together. It also would have been great if Vision X had included female spade connections for the halo wires. All in all, a great upgrade despite the minor problems.
Like Stephen H. I was unable to get the lights to positively lock the H13 connectors on my wife's 2013 Wrangler. After 4 phone calls it was revealed that there was excess material on the headlight connector that prevented a positive lock. Rather than risk the $400 each headlights or the Jeep wiring I purchased H13 to H13 adapters (2 kits) and carefully trimmed the locking tab on the connector end with that plugs into the Jeep with a carpet knife. The first one I trimmed a bit too much but the second and third one were successful. This was much more adventure than I was prepared for. This took place from order day to final install a total of 18 days.
I have owned a pair for less than 2 years, one of these started flickering. I removed and reinstalled the one headlight and it no longer works. I contacted Vision X twice with no response.
I don't know. I can't get these things to clip in to the original wire harness. Seriously, it's driving me crazy. I can clip the factory ones back in with no problem. But, the Vision X harness will not click, so I can't lock in place. And don't get me started about the complete lack of instructions regarding the halo light. The light kit ships with no instructions, not even the generic wiring diagram that you have to search very hard to find on the Vision X site. There is not much out there on YouTube or elsewhere, so a explanation or recommendations instead of leave it to the wild would have been useful for the nearly $900 I spent.
