Reviews for Flowmaster 817755 Outlaw Axle Back for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Looks and sounds great!!
Just installed new Flowmaster on 2015JK.had a tough time taking old exhaust off.after about 45 minutes.just slapped new exhaust on in 5 minutes.dont tighten tips bolts to tight broke weld on the tip bracket.other than that ,sounds great not to loud just enough to get peoples attention.
Overall good fit and easy to install. Since I was replacing I just cut the old brackets off with sawzall. Make sure you cut off the muffler brackets only and then it’s easy to pull off old muffler. The brackets that go onto the duel pipes be careful not to over tighten like I did as they will break. (Just one). I do like the sound and does look good from the ass end
Easy install, nice throaty sound, sharp looks and improves clearance over stock.
If you want loud, this is it. Sounds like an early-70s Camaro at idle. In low gears, it sounds the beast. Above 70MPH, it will shake your fillings loose.
Went from stock to this on 07JKU. Pretty happy with it overall. Was a little concerned about pitch sitting in the cab, but from outside it’s more throaty. Definitely louder/almost too much. Neighbors are aware. Wife not thrilled (doesn’t appreciate the noise) so think ahead on that front. From inside certainly have to crank up radio. Windows down/doors off it is noticeable/bordering on too much. Best comparison is it’s similar to a Harley vs Honda ie pipes much more noticeable when cruising.
Great sound! great look!
Deep throaty sound but not too loud. Definitely can feel the added HP.
Love the sound. Louder than some will want but I like it. Easy to install, hardest part was getting the stock muffler off the hangers.
Ok, I'll break this down completely honest for you, assuming you're a normal person, with normal ears.
The exhaust sounds great. It's really not too loud, and it's certainly not too quiet. It installs quite easily, you can do this yourself no problem. You'll need some penetrating oil for the old bolts, and some white grease for the new ones. Also, the lock washer comes off WAY too easily. I used hose clamps and regular washers to secure the flanges to the hangers, do this and thank me later. It's a million more times secure than the lock washer they provide.
Ok, the sound. It's sounds very deep, throaty if you will. Almost like a V8, but very aggressive. If anyone says this has drone, it's because they have no idea what real drone is. I can talk just fine in the cabin without raising my voice or yelling or anything like that. There is very minimal drone at certain RPM's, after 2k you're good. Even below that it still sounds great. This is by far the best sounding exhaust I've heard for a JK. It also looks fantastic, thought the finish is a bit on the brittle side.
99% of you will love this exhaust, it's the most "Jeep" sound you could want, really adds some punch to your driving experience. I've driven mine over 1k miles with it on, and it never gets old. Long drives or short. Also for those of you that have remote start, give it a go on a colder morning and it sounds really mean in the driveway. I highly recommend this, especially for the price.
