Reviews for Quadratec Delrin Replacement Door Hinge Bushings for 07-24 Jeep Wrangler JK & JL 4 Door
These bushings are a great replacement for the factory ones. Doors slide easily in and out and open and close smoothly. Depending on how old your vehicle is, and how much corrosion is on your hinge pins, two strips of emery cloth just might not cut it, though. I needed a lot more for all eight pins on my ‘07 Unlimited. The removal tool worked great even on two very stubborn factory bushings.
Great product easy to install, but after installing them drill out the factory ones, trying to hammer out my bottom divers door bushing I moved the hinge and then bent a corner on my door because I didn’t notice. I hammer 3 of the 8 out because that’s all that would come out. The other five were drilled out with a 1/2 inch dill bit and a right angle drill. I used a 12 volt drill so it took a little longer then the guys in the pic, but just listen to the drill and take it easy, use the reverse to clear the chips and i sometimes had to pull the pile of old bushing out as it came out the bottom to continue.
Great product, even better customer service. These bushings fit perfectly after using instructions that were actually legitimate, as well as Rob’s video. I screwed up by using another aftermarket company to buy replacement bushings for my 2009 JKU, and not only did 5 of the 8 break, they blamed me for it. I had always used Quadratec before and will never make the mistake of not using them again
Love these. Wish I would have replaced original bushings sooner. My old ones were a pain in the arse to get out, but these worked like a charm.
Great product. Doors swing smoothly and are easier to remove. Word of advice, replace the bushings as soon as you buy your Wrangler. The longer you wait, the harder it is to remove the factory bushings, especially if you live where alot of salt is used on the roads during winter or near the ocean. Salt will rust the factory bushings to the hinges. The only way to get them out then is by soaking in a penetrating oil and chiseling them out. Lesson learned on a Wrangler from Canada.
very smooth feel to the doors with these replaced. replacing them takes a while just removing the doors, etc. Don't want to rush that. Complete kit and the extraction tool comes in handy
Made removing the doors SO much easier! Also they swing freely now. Old bushings we’re old and crusty, smooth operation now.
Highly recommend!
One tip, a 1/2” drill bit makes removal of the old bushing much easier if yours are as bad as mine were.
Very nice product with clear instructions. Installation time is determined not by the product, but by the Jeep. While not difficult, installation time can prove lengthy if you have a lot of stubborn old hinge sleeves to remove. I used a combination of the removal methods mentioned in other reviews to remove the old factory door hinge sleeves. Drilling the old ones out with a 1/2" drill bit was the most effective when needed, and is the method I used for removal of the majority of the old sleeves. If you have a 90 degree cordless drill, this is really helpful for the lower hinge pins if you have rock rails, etc. I installed then mainly because my old ones had become corroded (2014 Wrangler JKU) and a few of the doors didn't open / close as smoothly as they could. Once these new sleeves where installed, the effort needed to remove the doors is drastically reduced.
Haven't taken the doors off again since I installed these, but they look much better than the old metal sleeves and the doors swing freely. Everything came clean following the directions with the kit. I live in the south so rust wasn't an issue, just old lubricant. Using a small round metal file and a dowel with sandpaper the body hinges came shiny smooth but the sleeves were not going in using hand pressure alone. I used a small tack hammer and got them in with no issues, not saying you should, but it worked for me.
2017 JKU. Great product and the instructions were clear. From other reviews I read that maybe drilling out the old bushings worked better than mushrooming the tool. I had to do that for 3 doors and it went pretty quick. 2 of the 3 doors loosened the bushing enough to use the removal tool. Definitely need plenty of 120 sand paper for cleanup. New bushings went in easy and door replacement was a cinch. Happy I bought them!
