Reviews for OMIX 11608.01 7" Fender Flare Set for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
Installed on a 2006 LJ Rubicon. Installation was very easy. Removal of the factory flares was also easy thanks to no rust (a So Cal Jeep). Was able to reuse all factory hardware since it was in good condition. Fitment is pretty good, though not as good as the factory flares. The factory Rubicon flares sit a little higher on the paint, leaving behind a wear line that is visible when you install these aftermarket flares. Also, you have to bend the flares quite a bit to get the holes to line up, which results in the front leading edge near the side marker light bending inward a bit. Not too noticeable, but still not as good as it could be. Overall, very good value considering the price. I hope they hold up in the UV light like the description says they should.
I have painted these to match tj, base coat/clearcoat, turned out great. You must wet sand with 400 and prep with adhesion promoter before applying base, then 2 coats of clear will protect these from the sun.
Flares are good quality and not too bad to install. The included washers are worthless and I’m not sure how those inserts were supposed to work suffice it to say I didn’t use them and used the original hardware I took off. But I still give the quality 4 stars.
Nice looking pretty good fit, sort of distorted I expect from shipping and handling, but what a pain, not to install, but remove old units. 20 minutes to install 3+ hours to remove old flares wow... good product great fit with my 35s
Harder install than projected due to age and location of old fastners
Looks good.
The fit was good, and they look good... but after a cpl years they are brittle, so they beak and crack with very little effort. Best thing is too buy two sets, then your ready if one gets broke.
Bought these in July 2015 and they are now cracking and splitting in several places and the dog leg extensions are severely sun faded.
