Reviews for Bestop Replace-a-top with Half Door Skins & Tinted Windows for 88-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ
Competitive price for a quality product
Awsome
I ordered this top for my 95' Wrangler Rio Grande to replace a Bestop that I've had on it for the last 20 years.... yes 20 years!, which is the reason I went with Bestop again. And honestly, I probably could have gotten another couple years out of it, but some of the stitching was coming out and the windows, especially the rear window had there fair share of scratches. The new replacement top looks and fits amazingly. I'm using the original hard ware and frame for the top, and fitment is perfect, very tight, challenging to get on the first time, which is what you should expect. The quality is top notch, I went with the tinted windows this time and they look great!. Having put this new top on, it really showed the age of my old one, i'm very pleased with this top. The only difference from my old top is the interior color, old top had same spice color on the inside and this new top is grey on the inside, which actually looks really nice. Not sure why a couple reviews state that is doesn't fit well or that its saggy, but like I said, i'm using the original hardware and frame and its super tight.
I bought a Bestop replacement for my 1995 Jeep after the factory OEM top disintegrated in about 4 years. The Bestop product has lasted for 20 years. It's developed some cracks that leak, but is probably out of warranty by now, so I'm buying another one. Hard to complain given that it's been parked outside year-round all this time. This new top will likely outlive the Jeep.
Very nice top. Good price and easy to install.
Great fit, just like factory. Save yourself the heartache and spend a little extra money on this Bestop replacement for your rig. Definitely worth it compared to other replacement top options.
Perfect fit, easy installation!
I've had this top for over a year now. Since it's a direct replacement for the original, the installation is really pretty easy.
The fit is tight, but it takes some playing with to learn the best way to get buttoned up.
My only gripe is that the rear window hangs just to the top of the tailgate, so rain drips in the cab. I get around that by placing a small plastic shield between it and the tailgate to give the top just enough lift that rain doesn't come in.
Another note: my center support bar did not have any padding on it, so the top would rattle very loudly when at highway speeds. I solved that by getting some foam pipe insulation and wrapping the bar.
Bought this top to replace a Sailcloth top that blew apart at 65mph (that was exciting), after 14 years of hard use and exposure. Went for the lighter Replace-a-top this time. Finish and quality are the same – very good and superior to others I've experienced, and installation was a little easier with the lighter fabric. The fit is nice and taut. Not sure what would have caused previous reviewers' problems. Only disappointment was the zippers in the door skins are sewn in a little sloppily, probably by a beginner, and some minor misalignments around the back windows, hence the 4 stars.
Have always had a bestop on my Jeep Wrangler cause that’s oem. Usually get around 4-5 years from one.
