Reviews for Power Stop K2798-36 Front & Rear Z36 Extreme Performance Brake Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I added 35's to my JK, and noticed right off, my brakes were weak, as stock they were weak before upgrading to 35's from stock. I liked the power-stop z36 because it comes as a completed kit with everything you need to do a complete brake upgrade. And look so much nicer then the stock rotors. After the break their is some improvement and work well with the 35's. For the money it was worth it.
Ordered the kit, and everything was perfect when ordering; Kit arrived in 2 days, stuff looks great. My only grip is that were NO instructions at all. Had to go to youtube and get the details.
Brakes are extremely powerful now, and can quickly stop my Jeep from very high speeds. When I was breaking them in they would stop with so much force it was making me sick (not a complaint, was very impressed). Would give it 4.5 stars (but can’t) simply because they travel in my brake pedal is much, much longer than stock, so to get all the power from the brakes it takes a lot of force on the driver’s end, but once they have that force you will come to a stomach turning hault.
Pretty nice upgrade to the brake system as long as you are running 35 inch tires or under.
Stop well - not amazing but better than stock. Also a very simple install (great instructions). My only gripe is that the Rear rotors were labeled as front. Beside that the vented rotors are in the front and non vented in the rear.
I thought thought that the rotors would be a little bigger, but that was probably my misunderstanding...
The rotors are very good quality and the pads also...
The instructions were good, but you can open the master cylinder and c clamp the caliper to keep brake fluid...
All in all the project went well and quickly...
A good product at a good price...

I installed this brake upgrade kit hoping to gain some stopping performance while towing (and regular driving too). I can't say that the difference was any better than if I were just to have done a brake job with OEM parts. The rotors look cool but I would say that the performance is just OK. Not better than OEM pads and rotors. Not worth the extra money unless you just really want cool looking rotors. Build quality is good. Directions are clear.
Brakes are great, problem though: they said matching pads for each set of rotors. well they gave me four sets of front pads and no rear brake pads. Had to spend an extra 70 bucks for rear pads as we had the entire back end apart already. this is one of those "you had one job" moments and you screwed it up.
Put them on without even a little problem. Seasoned them with no issues. After seasoning them I walked around to admire my work and there was a groove in the rotor on the front passenger side. Not sure what was in that pad but I am going to try to get a replacement rotor and new pads.
I upgraded my OEM breaks to the Power Stop breaks because I have bigger tires on my Jeep. The OEM breaks were fine around town but really struggled in the mountains. After some research I decided to go with Power Stop. I watched several You Tube videos on how to install these breaks as no instructions were provided. Had some issues getting the new pads into the calipers but eventually they went in. After everything was put back together I seasoned the breaks as recommended by others who installed this system. I noticed the breaks were now very squishy so I bleed the break system and tried them again. Still no difference. I went to the auto parts store to get more break fluid and the tech said sometimes a air bubble will get stuck in the ABS system and to get it out the ABS has to be activated. I drove down a dirt road and activated the ABS and replaced the break fluid. Still no difference. Today the Jeep is in the shop at the dealership getting the breaks fixed. I'm not sure why I ran into this issue but I did read some others had the same issue. Everything points to air in the system but after 3 large bottles of break fluid it seems the air would be gone.
