Reviews for Smittybilt Front Neoprene Seat Covers with FREE Rear for 13-18 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK 4 Door
Nice seat covers that do the job protecting the seats. Fit was good on my 14 JKU. The plastic clips could be heavier duty. They cracked after about 2 years. Which made them useless, but the covers stay in place regardless.
I love them. They are snug. A little hard to get on the first one, but once you get that one on and know what to do the rest is a breeze. I used a paint stirrer stick to help push the clips and fabid through the bottom of the backpiece. Yes it tight but the stick is flat and no sharp and it helped push it through with ease! The only complaint is when I received them, there were some loose "strings" in the stitching. I cut them at the source to prevent snagging. I just hope this doesn't mean they are gonna fall apart at the seams. I've only had them in a day and already received like 5 compliments from different people. Great seat covers so far!
These fit and look real nice and seem to protect the seats very well.
Took me 2 hours in the Vegas heat. Sweat everywhere. The front seats were tight. Driver seat was the worst. What made it tough was the Velcro was getting caught on fabric between the seat and back rest. If you could prevent that, it would go much smoother. I ended up using a thin cutting board to push between the seat and backrest. Cutting board was wide enough to prevent the velcro getting caught on fabric. Back covers were easy. Cover is on and looks great. Now to see how it holds up from the daily use. Installed on a 2014 wrangler unlimited.
Installation is a challenge! There is very little room between the seat back and bottom to tuck the covers through. My Jeep is a 2014 JK Unlimited. It seems impossible at first, stick with it. The trick I found is to use a putty knife to push the fabric through to the back and then pull it from the back with a pair of pliers. Get a good grip being careful not to rip the fabric. Work it, push it around as needed. Think it through and you will be okay. The seat covers look great and feel good too!
Fronts seats easy to installed but back seats were a little difficult. Good and comfortable
I bought the solid black seat covers and am happy with the product overall. I would've given the product 5 stars had the installation time/level of difficulty been realistic - unless I'm below average and am the only one who suffered through it, ha!
It took me at least 3 hours to install the front and back seat covers. Now, I'm not sure how everyone else did theirs, but my Jeep is still as stock (no lift and basic stock tires), I didnt take the seats out of the Jeep (only adjusted the seats forward, backward, and the back support/lumbar area forward and backwards), and I'm about 5'4". So, I climbed in and out of the Jeep, wrestling those bad boys on, I'm sure giving the neighbors quite a show! I had to put duct tape on the velcro and use a baking spatula to push the velcro flap through the middle of the seat (to behind the seat) in order to get the top half onto each seat without the velcro getting stuck to anything else. For the back seat, I have the split bench, and had to unzip the large cover and slip it under the middle seatbelt and remove the buckle (push it back behind the seat) to finish. The covers' fit a little off, like they are too small in some areas and too big in others, but I selected the correct year/make/model for my order and couldn't adjust the covers anymore than I did. I'm hoping they just need to shift and adjust over time to fit better. I'll be getting the rhino lining done soon, so I'll have a better look when the seats are actually removed.
So, I'd still recommend the seats to everyone, but just recommend to also have a realistic time frame, have duct tape and a spatula-type tool to use (not a knife or scissors tho because you dont want to ruin your new covers!), and maybe a partner in crime (someone tall if you're short like me) that can help you push, pull, and grunt your way through the process. I'd definitely buy these again because they feel and look like great quality covers!!
Red didn't go well with flame red exterior so had to return but quality and install were great!
Quality good. Easy install Red is more like a violet than a firecracker. No center consol cover
I ordered the rd black ones. Was not red, more maroon or burgundy. Very disappointed with the color, does not match the rest of my red accent items. Put them on anyway because I needed them for the weekend. Went on good, fit very well. Dont overtighten the straps that go underneath, I found out the hard way. They soften up the seats and feel comfortable. They are a wet suit though, keep that neoprene thing in mind. Headrest covers could fit better but not really noticeable unless you examine them. Easy to clean. Very happy, except for the color of red not being accurate.
