Reviews for Quadratec 2 Bike Folding Bike Rack for 2" Receiver Hitch
Great rack. Well built and very sturdy. Only four stars as I believe the two bike rack seems a bit tight with both bikes put on. I should’ve gone with the four bike version. The reflectors on the ends are very nice but I might try to cut those off just so I can get some more space between the bikes.
Perfect carrying
This is the second Quadratec bike rack I bought. I gave the 4 bike rack to my son. These racks are well made, plenty of clearance for the door to open. The only reason I am giving the 2 bike rack 4 stars, is that I find the arm for holding the bikes is an inch or two too short. I found it tricky to put both bikes on the rack, because they were too close and the handle bars would get in the way
Functional and gets the job done. Has it fair share of wobble so i'm going to have to add a bracket to the hitch
Looks as advertised but powder coat not heavy duty at all. After a few weeks it required painting. Also it wobbles in the hitch which can be annoying. Good for price but expected more.
This has turned out to be an excellent rack. I haven't used it that much yet but so far it appears very sturdy. It was very easy to assemble and install. They provided the tools. It fits in the trailer hitch and extends beyond the rear tire. Very easy to lower the rack down so that you can open the back door too. It was also cheaper than bikes from "bike" companies. Plus Quadratec designed this for Jeeps so I didn't have to guess whether or not it would fit.
Full marks for the rack. Works great. The lock is a bit picky with being keyed. Have to fight it a bit to get it to open.
Decent rack for the money. Just had to put a little spacer foam between the bikes to keep them from rubbing once everything was tightened down.
So this is a great value for the price, very heavy duty, no rattles, can hinge lower to clear tailgate opening. Downside is it barely clears my 33s, I mean it's really snug, any bigger tire would require a hitch extension. Also, the pins are really hard to get in and out, you really need to carry around a hammer to tap them out. It's basically a Jeep....sturdy and capable, but very rough around the edges and not precision for. I'm still happy with the purchase and the free Bolt cable lock was great.
Simple and easy install and operation for a first time bike rack owner. I have a standard size tire and I have it placed in the closest hitch hole with room to spare. The second hitch hole could accommodate larger tires easily. Looks great and is functional to keep on vehicle while still accessing the tail gate.
A couple of small criticisms it is just a little shaky on the car -- no amount of tightening seemed to fix that but the bikes seemed stable. I tried to purchase a hitch pin with a lock at a local store and it didn't fit so I'll have to figure out another solution for that.
