Plastic part broke as soon as the weather turned cold. I fabricated a metal tab to replace the plastic. Be prepared for the part to fail.

Not even 6 months old and the locking tab on one broke off. I question the quality of these.

These things are garbage. The actual catch is plastic.

Garbage. One side didn’t want to stay latched unless I cranked the turnbuckle all the way down. And then a week later the plastic “safety latch” on the other side broke off. Can’t recommend them at all.

The main hood latch is very good. The brittle plastic safety tab is junk. Broke when barely used. They need to come up with something better.

Latches look great BUT after a year the paint is peeling/cracking badly and they look terrible. I hardly use my Jeep it’s more of a summer weekend vehicle and I park it under a carport so not sure why the paint damaged so quickly. Also looks like the metal is corroding quickly. These hinges were not worth the cost they shouldn’t be having this problem after only a year and minimal use.

I got tired of having to replace my hood latches so I decided to bite the bullet and spend way more than I should have for something that looked to be bullet proof. Man was I wrong. The whole thing is solid and strong except for this one cheap plastic piece that clips the latch down. It’s a critical piece. Well it snapped and now the latch is completely useless. Can’t believe I have to buy latches again.Hundred bucks down the drain. Oh and also, they make contact with the hood when you snap them down so there are marks/ scratches on my hood now also.

I purchased these latches a few years ago. They look great however the one HUGE flaw in the design of these latches is that the metal latch snaps onto a plastic fin. Everything is metal except this 1 plastic piece that is vital for the latch to snap down onto. It broke on me within the first few month of my purchase. Rugged Ridge sent me a whole new set, I had to take out the plastic piece then send back the rest. Once the warranty was up, it broke again! I was out of luck, Rugged Ridge won't send a replacement piece. Waste of money! If that 1 piece was made of metal it would be a great product, because it's plastic - product is terrible! Do not waste your money, that plastic fin WILL BREAK! I guarantee it.

I would give this zero stars if possible. The kit was not complete. There are 6 pieces missing for the set. I wish I had done an inventory of the latches prior to taking the hacksaw to my old latches.
