Reviews for Flowmaster 817674 American Thunder Stainless Steel Cat Back Exhaust for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited JK
Fantastic!! The sound is very noticable, its a must have for your jeep!
great sound and the best clearance I've seen on an exhaust system definite power increase
Product is made of good solid material. I would rate 5 stars but I expected the exhaust to sound better. Exhaust sounds better than factory but not what I expected from Flowmaster.
This kit has a nice sound and it tucks up nice and tight under the jeep. The finished product is really quite nice. The directions are not very good and I found that if I cut where they said to cut I would have had to cut and reweld a hanger. It was definitely not exactly bolt on so be aware of that. They really need to make a kit for the 2 door and one for the 4 door. All that aside I do really love the finished product.
I've had this exhaust for about a month. Installation is 5 stars. I don't understand other comments about how bad it was. I have a 2012 JKU. No rattling at all cause I tightened all the bolts. I put it all to get her BEFORE I tightened it. The pipes have a little movement so you can position it not to touch. I gave it 4 stars cause the pitch is a little high with my manual. Low rpm's sound great.
This thing has a great sound and tucks up outta the way, but installation can be tricky getting it not to rattle. We welded a new hanger on the tail pipe at a different angle to keep it from hitting the rear sway bar. Buyer beware
Not very easy to install on a '14 Jeep Wrangler JKU...the area is very tight. In addition, the sound is a bit pitchy...a little higher than you would expect coming from a Jeep. Glad I have it for the high clearance, but probably would have sought out a different tone if doing this over again.
Inlet pipe to muffler needed to be trimmed 2 inches to have muffler not hit on underside body reinforcement channels. If not muffler hits channel and tail pipe hit rear sway bar. After trimming it fits right.
I have a 2016 JKU and had to remove the factory alignment pin on the y-pipe in order for this system to fit properly and this step was not mentioned in the manual. As a side note, the sound profile is not what I expected and I will probably change this system out for something that has a bit softer tone.
I've never been so confused about a product. I love it, but I hate it more. It rattles like an old junker, but with some adjustments to everything it wont rattle till you bog it in reverse or pulling out. Quality is not the issue here, very well constructed. The sound is just a little too much for me, with a soft top and a stick it seems like 95% of the time I have to yell to get over the drone in the cabin. I was getting 20 MPG and now I haven't moved from 18.5. For the past week I haven't even had my foot in it do to the fact that I can't stand the sound/drones that flood the cabin. It could be a nice product, but not for $450.
