Reviews for Dirtydog 4X4 J4TR07R1BK Trench Cover for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK 4 Door
Product works exactly as described. Install with the deats down and but the two inboard sides together. The hook and loop used is crazy aggressive and will definitely hold it in place. The only downside side is that if you have anything stored in the cargo area, tool box, sub woofer box, etc. You will lose some space when the back seats are upright. I tried to install it upside down to combat this, but while the hook and loop sticks to the seat back like glue, it doesn't stick to the cargo area carpet at all. Which is odd. 5 star product if I could reverse it and not lose the cargo space for storage.
Works as described no directions though must be mounted low to work correctly.
Cover up the holes
Trench Cover is straightforward enough, Velcro has solid grip hold. Covers do what is expected and do not impede movement of seats from lowered position to upright. Purchased this for my dog, my 185 Mastiff could put all his weight on the covers with the seats down and there is no bowing or buckling. Simple but solid product
It does the job of covering the majority of the GAO when seats are folded down. It also matches the dark grey interior as well. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is the price. I think it is a little expensive for what it is.
could be a little bit wider...
Doe's what it's supposed to kind of But at $70 a pop some body is making a killing and taking advantage of the Jeep community.
I will second what Bernard U said on 11/2018: the product does not match the marketing photos. The pieces do not span the full width and leave a gap. Also, when the seat is up, the pieces do not go flat on the floor, so anything like a cargo liner is lifted up. If they were as wide as shown and also had two “hinges” so they laid flat, they would be worth the money.
If only the real product matched the picture on the web site for the product. The picture on the website shows the trench cover filling between the outboard side, seat back brackets without any gaps. That was important to me, as I bought it so my dogs could hang out in the cargo area. That trench was a potential leg breaker, especially for a large bread dog, like my Great Danes. They don't always look down to see where they are stepping. I installed the trench cover and it DOES NOT cover that area without gaps. I lined it up as to cover the outboard bracket/gaps and it leaves about a 4" gap between the two panels. If I line it up so the two panels are tight to each other, it leaves a large gap on the outboard sides. I'd post a pic if I could. You can see that the panels are clearly shorter than the smallest section of the seat backs. They should at least match the smallest section of the seat backs. Either slightly dubious marketing (doesn't match picture), or poor quality control. In any case, it's a potential hazard for my dogs. I bought this so I wouldn't need to cut a piece of plywood to cover the trench. Looks like I have to do that anyways. At least with the trench cover, I won't have to find some old carpet to put on the plywood.
Probably good for most uses, but if you are thinking of getting it for dogs to run around the cargo area, save your money. You'll need it to carpet you custom piece of plywood.
When I first started using this product it was pretty sweet. Although I had to figure out how to adhere it to the carpet so that it stayed in place even with two big labs bouncing around the back. Glue and Velcro. When the boys were wet I guess the water ended up having an effect on whatever material the cover was made of. I have not cut it open yet but it feels like particle board that has just started creasing and then eventually crumbling in just four short months! Hence the two stars. Now I will have to spend another $70+ to replace it unless it is replaced at no charge. In my opinion I think that a Plexiglas would be a better choice of material.
