Reviews for SpiderWebShade JKini Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
They way it connects
Very nice. A little more inconvenient than expected when leaving in place under Freedom Panels.can be difficult to reach latches. Beyond that, love the product.
No instructions are provided. I needed to go to the manufacturer's website to find them (see link below). If you have a hard top you need to remove it to get the straps around the sound bar. I got around removing it entirely by just loosening the screws and and lifting up the top when needed. Once installed properly, its great. Reduces wind noise and provides shade while still being "open air".
The shade this provides is excellent. However, there are two things you should know. One, you have to remove the hard top completely to install the Spidershade. Two, it is very difficult to reach the hardtop locking handles and tricky to get the front two locking clamps to engage with the Jkini installed. They did not make it with access holes to facilitate reaching these components of the hard top. We've decided to leave our front spiderballs off when the front hardtop panels are installed and attach them only when the panels are removed.
I'm torn on the jkini shade! It was easy to install and does a nice job of blocking wind (I can leave my hair down on the way to work!) and sun. However, having it on is a bit like being on a screened porch. Technically, you're outside, but you definitely 'feel' the screen separating you. I got the white one, which is really nice with the top on because you don't notice it's there, but I wish it was about 25% less opaque so you could still see sky when the freedom panels are off. I think I'll probably only use it in +90 degree weather when having the sun and hot wind off you is most important.
Wasted my money, missed the return deadline by a few days! Nowhere does it say you cannot install this if you don’t take the back roof off until you watch the video! Only instructions are an online video. It does not fit like they say & show, it’s loose and flaps in the wind.
Simply put it doesn’t fit. It sags in the front corners once it is installed because it is poorly designed and there is too much material for the space it is designed to cover. Buy something else.
do not purchase this top. especially if you have a hard top and sound bar. there's no way to install it without taking the hard top off, and no way to get the bungees around the sound bar 'cause they're too short - and that's the long ones. also, if you're like me, you need hard copy, written instructions. there are none. just a highly inadequate video with no close ups for installation details. this is going back asap.
