Reviews for Mopar 68045040AA Locking Fuel Tank Cap for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Great product. Had it keyed at same time as hood lock at a discount. 5 years and no issues.
Very convenient to not need an extra key. Works perfectly, and like the additional security and the cap tether. Locksmith charged $28 to set it to my ignition key.
This cap seems fine. Replaced a cap that I had on for about four years, because check engine light kept coming on.
A trip to the locksmith was necessary to get this keyed correctly. For me, this gives me piece of mind.
Locks with your ignition key. One less key to carry. Install is a snap.
Works as described. Local locksmith took 40$ to key it to the original key.
Works as intended.
This thing works great. So convenient to be able to use the ignition key. I read some reviews where some folks had to pay an additional $60 at the dealer or locksmith to have it keyed. I went to a local locksmith shop (not had the locksmith come to me) and he keyed it for me for $8 bucks. Low price for convenient piece of mind. Definitely recommended.
Works flawlessly. Just put the lock in with your key and turn it.
Great product. Works perfectly on a 2017 Rubicon Recon, despite the fact that Mopar says it will not fit. Beware, however, as there are no instructions. DO NOT trial the new cap to make sure it fits as once you put it on, it will not come off until the lock is keyed and inserted into the cap. I had to go to the local Jeep dealership immediately to have the lock keyed. Service desk wanted to charge me an hour of shop time plus parts, to the tune of about $150. The parts department helped out and total cost was $25 to fix the lock to my ignition key. I'd recommend just taking it to a local locksmith and have them do it. Most charge $10-15 for the service.
