Reviews for OMIX 18019.03 Lower Steering Column Bearing Kit for 76-95 Jeep CJ Series & Wrangler YJ
Product fit well and installation was smooth. Would recommend liberally applying PB Blaster or equivalent to the expansion portion of the collapsible column and the steering shaft where the collapsible column connects as well as at the bearing and retainer.
Perfect fit works great

Perfect!
Easy to install. Tightened up my steering.
Worked great popped right into place and turns smoothly. I just wish they offered the top bearing in the steering column as well since I rebuilt my column and ended up cleaning and repacking my old one
Perfect fit. Got it really fast. Always have great service with your team. Thank you
I had a weird feeling in steering when I rotate the steering wheel, it felt like a spring in the column binding in the turn signal part or something. Upon inspection my old bearing had a ball missing and was rusty, not a whole lot of play but enough.
This helped my steering but not sure how much as I replaced the steering shaft at the same time and it was night and day.
On installation, I had to shave the inside diameter on the retaining plastic bushing, it simply wouldn’t go in even with tools (didn’t try a press) I shaved it with a razor just scraping the lip. Scrape a little and try, repeat. When it sat it clicked hard.
On removal of the old!- with shaft off column, I couldn’t get it off due to rust, I found on the side towards the engine, I used channel ox pliers against the white retainer and column shaft and a flat head on the other side and it came off with pressure. Took me a while to figure that out without a puller, worked great.
4 stars for having to shave the retainer even though it was not hard it should come together I feel like. Probably a reason for it but still almost caused damage to new bearing trying to press on it.
Works. Instructions would have been nice since mine was toast. Had to take it apart 4 times till I got it right.
