Reviews for Fairchild Industries D4004 Cowl Rubber for 87-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ

I got this seal for my son's YJ. It worked but did not fit as snug as I would have liked during the install. It was a little difficult to install I had to use a racket strap to pull the window back enough to bolt the roll bar back to the top of the window. Shortly after I did the repair my son took the YJ to his next duty station so I do not know if the rubber ever formed a tight fit.

Seems to be good quality, installation was easy. I'm giving 4 stars because I think replacement screws should be included or at least the suggestion of buying a screw kit in the description as most of mine were pretty rusted.

A quality cowl gasket.

No matter how I position the seal it sticks out farther that the original factory seal. It still works but it annoys me.

A like off on the screw holes but works

Fits but not like factory. Bottom of the seal where it meets the cowling does not fit flush and stick out about 1/4”. When comparing this Fairchild seal against the factory there is a clear difference. Does it work yes, does it look good, no.
